Hi guys. I just got my form in the mail for next years Indy race. I need advice, as to what seating I should choose. Those that went this year, I would like to hear your comments. So far Stand H and J seem like good seats to me. What about the Penthouse seats are they worth the extra money? They are almost double the price as regular seating. What is so special about them. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Mick

Can't speak for Indy but having been to the Melbourne GP a few times i'd say along the Start/Finish line is the way to go. Having watched the Indy GP on TV near the end of the Start/Finish straight seems like a good place to be or opposite the pits. You might also want to see where any large video screens are placed and sit around there.

Thanks. J & H are located at the end of the start/finish line. I am leaning towards these seats.

I don't think there's a bad seat in the place. I liked the high seats in Grandstand A, and the NW Vista which overlooks the first section of the infield. The Penthouse seats are those on the overhang of the main grandstands. Frankly, if you have the high seats under the penthouse I think you're a move ahead of the game - you're covered if it rains.

We were in the Northwest Vista, and I recommend that section highly. You can see the cars coming off the last turn, all the way down the straightaway, and a very clear view of corners 1 through 5. If a car overcooks turn 1 it ends up right in front of you on the escape road. Since you are out in the open, the noise is tolerable (unlike the covered seats along the straightaway). You cannot see any of the pit action, however. If possible, try to get seats with double letters (AA and above) so you can see over the safety fence.

Over the weekend, we sat almost every where on the track. Our race seats were in the SE Vista and they were OK, nothing more. J stand, NW Vista and the N Vista all were great seats. The Penthouse seats it think would be OK is you wanted to see the cars start and view the pits, not much racing action. Our requests for next years seats were all in the Norht end of the track.
