The reason I didn't buy it is because the soft-top looked difficult to operate. 
You may have noticed that I have a proper thing about unloved cars. That, combined with my preferences for them to be either tiny and pretty and cute, or big and brutal and beastly, meant that the Dauphine appealed.
I must ask Dad what happened with the Hornet.
