You may be lucky to find a font that resembles it, I would think it was more a "designer" font that is unique to UOP

Being a big fan of the Shadow team and in the graphic arts industry I can say that it's a combination of font styles and the graphic designer. For the "o" try Gotham bold the "p" is another Gotham O and adding a bar going down you can do that by outlining the type, type a lower case L and outline it then shorten it an adding to the left side of the O just a bit under half way down. The U is very close to a capital U in Futura bold. You would need to design this in Adobe Illistrator it took me a few minutes once I had the fonts down.
If you would like the one I did I can email it to you.

Yes and no. Start with ITC Bauhaus, close the open space in the "p". Or use or Bayer Universal, a heavy weight. For the "Shadow" logo use Futura Black Stencil.

This might give you a good look at the logo. It is George Folmer at Road America. You can find some more stuff on my web site.www.prairiestreetart.com regards, I have some nice shots of the F5000 car but not sure if I have added to the site. Having been going over a lot of negs lately. RN

Greetings,
In a long distant conversation with "Himself", Don told me that the font was available at the time. Only slightly modified. I have an old business card from Mike Torino Racing, the font from what I remember it was very (very), close or identical. As the women I live with are making me nuts & the Glenfiddich is gone, I'm going hunting Mike's card & post the image. Cheers!..........Steve

Pretty sure it is "Pump" or "Pump Bold" , lower case, with that slight modification to the letter "p".

Here's another solution.

The logo taken from the uop (yes, they are still in business) web site. I have as a vector/eps. file format. PM me if you'd like me to email.

I think that's right. I made a couple of model slot racer Shadows back in the 70s, and if anyone is interested, I'm pretty sure that I still have a sheet of white Pump Bold Letraset with most of the lower case Yous, Ohs and Peas missing.

Greetings,
I just did a quick search at fonts.com . The 'Pump" font family is available, & as Gerr wrote, only minor mod's would be required to duplicate the Shadow/UOP lettering. cheers! Steve
