This is the place we've been waiting for. Thanks to you and David for being the fonts of knowledge that you are. I feel like I'm standing on the shoulders of giants.

Hell, I thought we were shooting for racing simulators and then considering the Paddock Club.... Naw, we're too calm and staid here to even remotely get in the neighborhood of the PC. we'll settle for third. Hmmmm, wonder if you get to move up a notch as you get more replies? ;)

I second Don Capps emotion. The great moments are what keep us coming back and back to this sport. I just discovered Atlas F1. What a great site! Thanks to all for helping me recall so many thrilling images burned into my mind.

While I am of a size that perhaps makes a person portable, I believe I will simply read this forum as I have been doing. I've not much of a mind for F1 history, I'm afraid...so my contribution is to learn and not to teach. :)

Besides, my French lessons are driving me crazy as it is. The news sure looks a lot different when it's not in English. (inside joke)

Thanks for all the knowledge being disseminated here! I tip my helmet to the historians.

After many weeks of stocking the Racing Simulator Forum we are now neck and neck! After this there are only two more Forums to pass but then again maybe not. I think that most of us would rather have are own little oasis we call the Nostalgia Forum.

BTW thought I'd show a picture of Mr Motor Racing at the "office". Posted Image 2 cents to the first person who tells me what car it is.

Thank you, this Nostalgia Forum has opened up a world of information, memories and reflections on times going by. "The Boss" sang a song about sitting around talking about the glory days, I love it. The way its going now the thread on the birth of the GT 40 will past all.

Don and whoever is responsible for section of AtlasF1 Nostaglia Forum thanks. :) :) It's a pleasure to be in a place that people want to share ideas instead of sharing hormonal out bursts and childish xenophobic rhetoric. Thankyou thankyou. :) :). I'll try to be

I have been reading this forum for several months and have found it thouroughly enlightning. The history of motor racing has always facinated me and this forum has been a rare opportunity for me to evesdrop on the conversations of those who acctualy expirianced historic races and are far more knowlegable than I in the history of racing. Thank you all very much for creating such a great forum.

That's right - we just need a few oldies around here, people who saw Dick Seaman and Robert Benoist race...
Love to drop in on that conversation!
I have met Louis Chiron's nephew - but he knew very little of his uncle due to family disputes over Louis driving for the Germans.

I always had a passing but not passionate interest in F1 history until I bought the Grand Prix Legends computer racing sim program. That lit a flame, and reading the learned, or at least passionate, posts on this forum has fanned the fires more. Now, I've just given up 2 YEARS OF FREE CABLE TV SERVICE (my local cable TV service stopped billing me and couldn't find any records of my receiving it despite my alerting them) just so I could upgrade to Speedvision and watch "Legends of Motor Sports!" Really now, this is getting out of hand...

Thanks (I think) to Don Capps, Dennis David, and Bira for making the Nostalgia Forum what it is.

We've done it now, chaps, we've let Don down. Just when he was counting on us that dreadful mob simulated their way to the front again. Let's get to work again...

Back in a comfortable lead, but we want a few more contentious or exciting threads to draw away and become unassailable.

If you want to really take off, you need to get Don to reopen the GT-40 thread!

Agree to John Nelson. Although my son (20) was already infected with historic racing by his father, "Grand Prix Legends" made the final breakthrough. Believe he now knows more about 60s GP racing than me! Although I hate all these computer racing sims, I believe GPL did more for our passion than any magazine, book, or TV report.
