I spotted today what seemed to me like a first- in the ferrari pit stop a silver board came down on the INSIDE of the car, blocking our view of them putting in the fuel hose.
Are they up to something?

I think it is simply a safety measure. The board is held there, between the engine and the fual intake, to isolate the engines heat from any fuel that may be spilled during refuelling.

it's a safety measure alright, but i thought it was to stop fuel spilling over their hot exhaust fumes, which are on the top of the side-pod, remember.
