I need to sit down and think about this for a while. I am sure if I do that will be able to come up with a more unsuitable idea for a thread on a motorsport website.

I wonder what did you expect when you clicked on the words "f1 clothes" ?
I have nothing, mostly because I find everything to ugly and/or to overpriced.

If people want me to wear their advertising, they have to pay me first. So far, no offers.

I can't say I'd ever wear team gear to a race, or anywhere for that matter.

I bought a Red Bull Racing t-shirt a few years ago because it was a cool shirt regardless of its racing heritage.

Personally I think people who dress head to toe in team gear look a bit weird.

That's especially true for the latest McLaren gear, which seems to be designed to cling to the skin and make even the smallest belly look massive!

I wanted to buy some Ferrari merchandise at Nurburgring this year, obviously with the motive of a mullet with legs and arms, but ****'s overpriced, low quality and very ugly. Why do they make F1 caps? They look stupid, especially on women.

I dont really own that much, I use a Mclaren ID badge holder for my work ID, and I have Mclaren hat that I bought so my shaved head didnt get sunburned but thats about it.

To be honest I find a lot of F1 clothes to quite ugly, they have far to many sponsors on them, and I kind of resent paying £40 for a t shirt just to become a walking billboard.

I own a few things. 2008 Ferrari sunglasses (very expensive!), button up shirt, hat, and jacket. I've only been wearing the glasses and hat lately because of the weather, but once Fall rolls around.... I can't wait to wear the jacket again, it's incredibly comfortable!

I own some kind of novelty Schumacher shirt as well. I've had it for several years and it doesn't fit and I never really even wore it, but I keep it in fantastic condition because it may be worth something in the future.

I'm contemplating getting one of those "FASTER" shirts as well.

I have a Red Bull t-shirt which is fairly ugly, a McLaren t-shirt which is also ugly, but I do like my bright orange Alonso/Hamilton McLaren cap. I would really like to get a Ferrari t-shirt at some point, because they look pretty nice compared to some of the other rubbish.

I just had an email informing me of the release of the new sunglass's, nice, but as you say, very expensive.

I own a Ferrari/Raikkonen No1 T shirt, 2 Raikkonen/Finnish flag t shirts, and one rip-off Raikkonen t shirt that I bought because I liked the design.

Yikes. That pair is definitely more expensive than the glasses I picked up from them. I can't tell which pair I have from the pictures, but mine ran me about $80 CDN. I feel slightly crazy for forking over so much money for them, but the fact that they are definitely the best sunglasses I've ever worn makes me feel a little better.

$80 doesn't seem so bad, especially if you rate them  as I think someone else has said, most of the Ferrari stuff I've seen does seem to be of slightly better quality than some of the other stuff, but some of it also seems way overpriced, I like the Ferrari jackets though, they even manage to be fairly practical. think i'll wait and see where Kimi ends up before I buy one though :rotfl:

what f1 clothes do you own?,

I was given an old Renault team shirt ( in the transition year from Benetton to Reanult - so they were dumping them )

But I would never, ever, spend the outrageous prices that F1 teams ask for their clothing and merchandise. On principle alone.

I may get a Dab-of-Oppo T-shirt though.

About the only item I have is a Red Bull rain-jacket which was purchased on the spur of the moment during the torrential rain at Silverstone last year.

It does it's job rather nicely and for some reason, the conversion from Euros to Pounds didn't seem to work out correctly so I got it cheaper than was on the ticket. Woo.

I have a great 2006 Nico Rosberg t-shirt which has no sponsorship just a Williams logo, the number 10, a small Nico logo and signature. Most are just too ugly/covered in sponsorship to spend money on. I also have a WilliamsF1 badge holder from the same year I use at work.

Back in July I managed to find a pair of Puma STR boots that I picked up for about £35 in a puma outlet store in Folsom. I got them, and wear them because they are good looking shoes not because I they are linked to F1.

Normal team clothes cost too much and are generally ugly. Take the £40 I could buy 1 F1 t-shirt with and I can get buy 3-4 decent good looking non F1 t-shirts.

At the airport in Milan the other night there were a bunch of fairly rotund McLaren supporters all wearing the latest silver sporty McLaren tops.

I'm sorry, but they looked awful.

The material those things are made out of is quite synthetic and really clings to the skin.

And why that looks great on an athlete in great shape, on a bunch of beer swilling fans it is totally not flattering.

Well, as far as F1 clothes go, the Ferrari puma collection is awesome. I have a polo shirt and a Hooded jacket and they don't have sponsors on it.

Williams merchandise is also cool. And I agree that the Mclaren jacket is weird, makes you look like an astronaut... But the sweatshirt is ok.

Lewis,
That's not Bar.
I have Damon Hill Jordan, Villeneuve William's caps. I also have a very cool Lewis shirt that I have yet to see anywhere else. Got it at the US GP 2007. All never worn. I do agree that the newer stuff is badly made and seem to be designed by people with no style or colour sense.

2 Ferrari jackets
A Ferrari dressing gown
1 pair of MS sunglasses.

I bought a Gerhard Berger Mild Seven hat one time on ebay, but was too embarrassed to wear it, so I sold it again. I would like one of those flashy, shiny quilted Marlboro jackets that drivers used to wear in the '70's.

JPM Williams cap
2005 Mild Seven RF1 tshirt
2007 Alonso McLaren tshirt
2008 Alonso ING shirt

A model of Jean Alesi's No. 27 Ferrari is the only other and actually first piece of F1 merchandise I ever bought. Don't want Bernie to get a new ivory backscratcher.

1998 Jordan Hill t-shirt bought at the Autosport show ( still fits)
2001 Williams Montoya baseball cap ( if it ain't on my head it's in the car)
2007 Lewis Hamilton #2 t-shirt
2008 McLaren rocket red victory t-shirt
2008 Lewis/Heikki cap in red ( present, never worn, not as nice as the Montoya cap)

My 8 year old has the same 2008 cap and 2007/2008 t-shirts as I do.

I also have a Mika Hakkinen towel ( not yet threadbare) and my wife has a Ferrari/Schumacher towel that she uses (I use that one to dry my butt when she's not looking. Shhhhhh....)

I have quite a few McLaren, RedBull (torro rosso) t-shirts and shirts, sweatshirts, all team wear, unbranded with drivers names, the ony piece I have with a drivers name on is a red bull hoody I got this year, it had DC name on, but as it was selling for £18 I thought what the hell its quite good quality.

oh, I suppose my most Expensive F1 gear is :smoking: my Tag Heuer Monaco watch

A few Williams and Red Bull caps and shirts, but my pride and joy is an actual team jacket from 2006 (?) which looks pretty cool with the very large outline of the bulls head and the sun on the back.....and it's fantastically warm.

Too many T-shirts and caps to list but my pride and joy is a McLaren team shirt from 1976.
