Found a few crappy photos of an early season meeting at Cadwell '87.
On the warm-up lap, Reg looped his Gixxer 1100 'Beast' on the start-finish straight, resulting in some frantic spannering by this well-known guy.

In the Assembly area prior to the incident in question. The rider next to Reg on the O'Kane bike is Irish rider Gerry Mahaffey who was wearing a set of the late Neil Robinson's old Skoal Bandit leathers from the previous year, Neil of course, sadly lost his life at the Mount in Sept '86.

This taken by my ex, passing by, Reg exclaimed 'no more f**king curry for me'!!

Good old Roger, always a class act.

Thanks for putting those up - nice set of photos. Isn't that Kenny Irons with his back to the camera at the fence, in the 'Coulson Racing' leathers? Looks like his bike, number 19. I remember Stafford had a signed photo of him on it at Cadwell - in pride of place on the 'photo wall' in Stafford's house. RIP Kenny - sadly missed.

Probably not if that is an 1987 picture? Kenny was doing 500GP on the new factory Suzuki that year.

Sorry guys. Yes, you are right of course. Although the bike looks very similar, it is Roger Hurst, and in 1987 it couldn't have been Kenny Irons.

You're correct Ray, Roger Hurst sponsored by Gpt Cpt Coulson IIRC.
Roger was also the driver of the car involved in the road accident where Ray Swann was killed IIRC
