Someone on James Allen's blog posted this translation of Andrea Stella's (Raikkonen's race engineer) comments to a Finnish paper:

Kimi can extract more from his car on his own that with the help of our engineering advice." "From this point of view he is better than Michael. He is better than Schumacher from this point of view. OTOH Schumacher was propably better at working with engineers and finding more speed in that way. No driver is or was the best at everything.

So finally it is settled : Kimi is better than Schumi.

Now, Kimi only needs to win 6 more titles and 73 more races.

Have no idea. He's driving in Formula 1, driving for Ferrari, won the World Championship and getting what, $50 million a year... He's sure a hell of a lot smarter than me... :)

Neither are these:

Confusious say. . .

"Man who drop watch in toilet have shitty time."

"Man trapped in pantry have ass in jam."

"Virgin like balloon. . . one prick, all gone."

"Baseball wrong. . . man with four balls cannot walk."

"Baby conceived in automatic car shiftless bastard."

"Man who smoke pot choke on handle."

"Ok for **** to happen. . . will decompose."

"Secretary becomes permanent fixture when screwed on desk."

"Don't drink and park, accidents cause people."

"He who crosses the ocean twice without washing is a dirty double crosser."

"Man who tell one to many light bulb jokes soon burn out."

"It takes many nails to build crib, but one screw to fill it."

"Never raise hands to angry child, it leave groin exposed."

"Woman who cooks carrots and pees in same pot is unsanitary."

"Man who keep feet firmly on ground have trouble putting on pants."

"Man who runs behind car gets exhausted."

"War not determine who's right, war determines who's left."

He obviously couldnt feel those things good enough because he was slower thsn Schumacher. Maybe if he had payed more attention like Michael he would have been able to outpace massa and not be sacked.

Its funny reading all this crap about Kimi, being in another class in highspeed corners, doing things to the car the engineers didnt think was possible, not needing engineering advice because of his special feel, when his performance was no better than felipe massa. Sounds like hogwash to me. If it was all true Kimi should have trounced massa not been sacked. I guess it keeps Kimi fans happy.

Life is complicated you know. I think ferraris engineers know things a little bit better than you. And do you have any evidence of schumi beeing faster than raikkonen. Of course schumi was faster than massa in 2006, he had been in that ferrari for how many years and the car was built around him, while it was massas debut at ferrari. And yet the almighty schumi was occasionally slower than massa.
But dont let these little details change your opinion, all my talking is crap and only you know the one and only TRUTH

Better than Schumacher

Actually just the opposite, it explains why MS had so many WDCs and kimi only one, and that one came when MS and his crew left him with an excellent set up and all he had to do was drive....if MS had been there another season, WDC would have been his, easy, .....

And it explains why the car has been on a downward spiral every since, and the problems of car set up and development with Kimi

Ye Im sure massa suddenly found a bundle of speed over an off season. If Kimi had such great feel and didnt need engineering advice he wouldnt have been complaining the car didnt suit him for almost 3 years. Perhaps he shouldnt have been so lazy and payed more attention. If this quote is true I think its the engineer trying to say in a nice way that kimi is too lazy or technically weak to listen to the engineers and does his own thing. Pretty good spin I must say.

i dont think anybody considers him dumb really...
on the subject of car development and setups, whitmarsh came out with very strong comments not so long ago

"The fact is, he is very sensitive to what makes a car quicker and is very intelligent -- he just doesn't always give it all away," said the Briton, referring to Raikkonen, who raced for the Mercedes-powered team between 2002 and 2006.

"Based on my experience of when he was here he was a very committed development driver. When he spoke those few words they were always very valuable,"

:rotfl: Whatever, everybody who says michael was the most succesful driver ever must mean he was a total rat. Nice spin indeed. Expect that there isnt any logic to follow. Exactly like your post where every single fact is wrong.

:rotfl: at the title of thread...what a dumb topic....its well known that kimi doesn't talk that much and this hasn't hurt him from being one of the best drivers.

i.e.
kimi on radio: turn 2 understeer
schumacher: turn 2 understeer as i turn my wheel at 32.3 degree angle and apply 88.7% throttle

I´m sorry to break the news down for ya, but Schumi cancelled his comeback to F1.

Unless you´re talking about teammate cross-comparisons. By now, after years of "proving" and "facts" from Arrow and his 50 aliases, we know how well that method works...

Unless many f1 fans are persons who badly need a 'wild, blonde and cool' hero I will never understand why Raikkonen got the fame he earned. Even after being beaten by Massa (who was and still sometimes is considered a poor driver), people would come up with all sorts of odd explanations for Raikkonen's lack of efficiency.

My view is that Raikkonen is rather fast, but that he takes time to get into his stride. Hence his poor performance in qualifying and his inability to get results (because you cannot overtake, these days, you're stuck no matter how fast you are). I'm basing this judgment on an exam (a cursory one) of his laps.

But for the rest, I really think it is his Persona that enchants young people.

Well, he obviously can't "feel" an understeering car, so maybe he should work with his engineers a bit more.
