Lando Norris is currently active and Max Verstappen regularly iRaced before F1, maybe still does.

I changed my name in iRAcing... from Paul Taylor2. Wonder if Mark Webber uses iRacing?

As far as I know Max Verstappen has only used iRacing in private practise with his Team Redline team mates, resulting in the great move that he made at Spa in real F1 in 2015 that he had practised beforehand on iRacing.

Rubens Barrichello is very active on iRacing at the moment, it is confirmed that it is really him.

Also, Ashley Sutton, rapidly becoming a top driver in BTCC is very active. He also recently was involved in a charity race for Billy Monger and roped in Rob Austin to drive too.

Had to try the new Ferrari 488 GTE (Le Mans around the corner and this being a relevant car,  not helping the craving for new content), so i took it a few laps around Brands Hatch.

First impressions are that (even though i managed to stuff it up a few times) there is a lot of grip in the rear, but in default setup the car has a bit of understeer at turn in. It is pretty quick, and has good brakes.

Recorded the first few laps with shadowplay:

So Scott Speed just made a complete ass of himself on iRacing

https://www.twitch.t...983?t=06h16m00s

To start he gets tapped from behind and spun into the wall while in the lead. It was the 100% other guys fault but honest mistake. He has to pit for repairs then when he comes out he waits for the leader to come around and starts messing with him. Then he does it again, and then again. And again. Each attempt is worse than the previous one. Must watch.

I don't think he realized he was being streamed, but that's the worst sportsmanship I've ever seen, anywhere, including schoolyard playgrounds.

He has done the same a month or two ago in the Rallycross. He needs to be banned from the service.

Does anyone not think this might be soneone using his account.

To suddenly be this much of a douche after playing the game for a while is a little odd!

It's not odd in the slightest, he's been this much of a douche in real life on many occasions. It's only surprising it took him this long in game.

LMP1's and the 'new' IndyCar currently being deployed.

Audi or Porsche? Decisions, decisions.

Audi is RHD, and Porsche is LHD, if that makes any difference to you.

Signed up for for two years subs last December... then not used iracing again till now! Jumped straight into a Porsche cup race at Sonoma. Had no setup so used a laguna one. Qualified near the back 2seconds off the pace started 10th, up to 7th on the first lap after some frontrunners made contact. Had a great race reeling in and passing for 6th... then made a mistake and got re passed then caught and passed by one of the front runners recovering... then he made a mistake and I re-passed the other guy. Then I made a mistake and he tried to pass me at next corner... left him space but we touched... I managed to carry on and he spun taking out the faster guy. Relaxed a little for last two laps holding on for 6th. Great race with no practice!

On facebook a team redline member explained that the driver in question had tried to ram Max off for about 10 laps already. Always more sides to a story.

Lol at Max, fast as hell but always crashing. We called them hotlappers back when I sim raced to a high level. Always going for WRs but fell apart in the race tangling with people or crashing out. Max obviously has nothing to prove to Sim Racers, however, he's certainly the real deal and not many sim racers could do what he does in an F1 car I'm sure. I raced against Team Redline and a very young Bono Huis in the World Sim Racing Champs in 2008. Amazing to think I had I given up my real life career I could have had a shot at earning a living doing sim racing! Having come within a cheats whisker of winning the Gran Turismo national championships in 2000 (before GT academy began) you could say I was before my time   ;) But I like to think I've lived a fuller life as a result rather than sitting at the computer more than I already do.

Great little history piece here:

Still he shouldn't get himself involved like that. Just leave the session and report him if so.

Thing is, when there's no (real) consequences and the person really deserves it... (without doubt)... taking someone out who's wronged you is GREAT fun. I've rarely done it. I imagine Max feels wronged more easily than the average driver given his on track behaviour in F1.

clouded judgement.

- Hey, it's Max Verstappen in the same session as me.
- I'm going to drive in his way for the next ten laps
*gets punted off by Max after 10 laps*
- See! He's the same as in real life, he has anger issues! He should know better!

Blah blah. :drunk:

How does iRacing host its races? Are there administrators around? Back in the day at Live for Speed both would be swiftly banned from the better servers. Needling and obstructing others and throwing tantrums is no way to have a good online racing environment.

On the other hand, Verstappen probably attracts a lot more attention from the idiots that inevitably reside among a playerbase than the average player. After such an incident I imagine both can easy do a [Return to pits] and [Resume] within a dozen or so seconds. Not a big deal.

It was a practice session, not sure how they are moderated.
iRacing works with a protest system, you protest afterwards providing a replay and someone will look at it. You also drop in rating for hitting other cars if I remember correctly. Been a while since I was a member.

iRacing <doesn't> work with a protest system

Having been intentionally taken out and protested a fair few times, I can safely say it's a pointless exercise.

Having myself been a victim of intentional or malicious actions, I can safely say I have had every single protest successfully accepted and upheld.

No sessions are moderated as such, but it is possible to find Nim (iRacing steward) in sessions and I have seen him boot people for filthy language and insults from the server straight away.

But the proper way is to use the protest system. It works, but it is not intended for normal racing incidents so as to determine blame. It is only there for cheating, intentional wrecking, etc.

Mine may have been accepted but I don't recall hearing of the penalty handed to a culprit (bans being handed out etc). What were you communicated after protesting?

If the protest was successful, there is a stock message they send you: "This email is to inform you that the protest has been reviewed and the member under protest notified of the outcome."

I am not sure why you expect to be told of the penalty. Each member deserves privacy and it is not about banning people, it is about educating and making sure they don't do the same again. If someone is a repeat offender, then they may get banned but you will never be told the penalty.

Seen a few clips of Mr V being rather nasty and naughty on Iracing, so if anyone is in the race with him, shake him up a bit, he cant help himself.

At the end of the day everyone has to adhere to the sporting code on iracing.

Regardless of what went on before, Verstappen should have reported the offending driver which ulitmately helps clean up the racing.

By driving like he did, Max has solved nothing and frankly he should have been banned.

I was happy to let the practice crashes slide, but he & Lando Norris dicking around in the B12hr while tens of laps down was unforgivable.

People (myself included) spend alot of time preparing for these special events. To get involved in a shunt with people just having a lark is not on.

If you look at the way he behaves on track even in F1 you can see why it comes out even more in a sim, it is just a bit of fun for him.

I have seen several pieces of footage showing him wrecking people, even for just getting in his precious way.

Fair enough he is a target for clipping, but even so.
