I am looking for a photo of the Healey 2300 Elliott that Nick Haines and Rudy Haller drove in the 1948 Mille Miglia - car #37.
I can find pictues of the Westland driven by Donald and Geoffrey Healey, and the Elliott driven by 'Johnny' Lurani, but none of the Haines car.
Can anyone assist or point me in the right direction?
Chris

A good source of Mille Miglia photographs is here:
http://archivio.fotolocchi.it
They are based in Firenze (Florence if you prefer) and seem to have photographed most cars which made it that far in the post WWII races.

We own DJT 57, a healey elliot that is reputed to have taken part in the monte carlo rally. Any information greatly received.
As I recall the MM elliot was sold at a goodwood auction 1-2 years ago

I've asked here but you may wish (if you haven't already) to ask directly.

I've had the following response.
GWD 42 and GWD 43 were at the classic and sports car show in 2008 on the club stand, along with GUE 722.
I have traweled through my postings, and guess what there was a couple of photos i've posted, and one was of the affor mentioned Elliot,at the bottom of the thread.

Hi, I'm the administrator on the Healey forum (healey.hyperboards) that Gary has linked to, and also webmaster for the Assn of Healey Owners.
If you are at the NEC classic show this weekend we have a stand there, the person to ask is Warren Kennedy, he has done restoration work on GWD 42 and 43 and probably knows more about Elliotts than most people.
If you aren't going, mail me - healeyowners at dsl dot pipex dot com and I can give you his email.
Do you have any more info on the car apart from the start number? It might be easier to look it up in our records with the reg.
The Elliott sold at Goodwood in 2008 was the 1948 motor show car IIRC.
for correctness they weren't 2300, they were 2443, and the show GWD 42 and 43 were at was the NEC classic show 2008.

Oh no you won't!, Well, not at the NEC at least. Finances are a bit desparate this year due to the IT world closing down, for contractors anyway, so I can't afford to spend the money on a weekend in Birmingham!
Cheers
