Pete - does my late Dad feature in the 2nd programme? He had the date in his diary for the "Seven Oaks and District Motor Club - AGK".

Fascinating to see Bryan Thompson's name. IIRC he was an Australian who brought his car - lime green Mustang? - and family from Aus to spend the summer racing in the UK.

I understand from a pal in Aus that he is still seen around the tracks - although that was a couple of years ago. Any current news?

I recognise that cover from Brands Hatch 25 June 1967. The meeting was cancelled due to heavy rain and flooding at the bottom of Paddock Bend. I remember all this as I woke up at daybreak in a field sitting in my car where I had passed out after a rather good 21st birthday party, got home for an hours kip, then hitched up the racer and off to Brands feeling awful and spent a wasted day being cold and wet! Happy days, the joys of youth!

This is the Thompson Mustang taken at Hume Weir NSW
The car was the ex Norm Beechey Mustang and it recently resurfaced and sold on Ebay
in its much modified Drag Racer form and will /has been the subject of a restoration to
its former Neptune Blue Beechey colours.
