Just read it in Italian and French websites, Gino Munaron passed away 23 November 2009 , aged 81.

He drove nearly all kind of racing cars: touring cars , sportscars , formula cars. And in all kind of events: Mille Miglia , Sportscar venues GP and non-championship GP.

And he was author of an 'oversized' book of 4-cylinder Ferraris.

Just beat me to it - I've just seen it - http://www.quattroru...m?codice=214994

What a sad loss. What a fine ambassador he was for historic motor racing. He'll be much missed. RIP

By the way for those who are needing these things (like myself;) he died on the 22nd November in Pecetto di Valenza

When you need it: funeral was on 24 November 2009.
You are perfectly right, I met him once or twice at the MM storico...

Sorry to hear this. I believe I saw him in the Peugeot at the Mille Miglia last year. There is a link here:

The tragic is, that he has a daughter which suffers a lot from cancer. When I spoke to him early in 2008 he was very worried about her.

Gino was a very kind and warm person.

May he rest in Peace!

MD.

That's very sad and at least for me, unexpected.

Here is an interview with him from May this year, he looks absolutely fine and sharp.

RIP. :(

Very sad !
I had the honour of meeting him at this years "Le Mitiche Sport A Bassano" in June, where he also presented the trophys to us.
He looked healthy and had very kind words to everybody.

Just a few days ago I watched the offical event DVD again where there is an interview with him.
