Stealing the idea of potmotr's "Fernando Alonso's helmet design at Ferrari" thread: what about Schumacher's at Mercedes? Because I don't think he will keep the Ferrari red helmet.

Should he go back to his old Benetton helmet

I think he should revert to the design you've mentioned.

The classic Schumacher lid will always be the best.

And if he's driving for a German company, they'd no doubt like the flag on the side.

Although he lost the 1998 World Championship finale with this helmet, it could well fit Mercedes livery!

I didn't much like his red Ferrari helmet, but his earlier helmet was one of the best ones in the field. I hope he goes with that.

But not the chrome version. I suppose it's possible to design a decent chrome helmet but I've never seen one.

Knowing Michael's creativity (or rather lack of ) I'm afraid it will be just that: a grey version of his current helmet. His son has the same design as him, only blue:

Yeh, terrible. Looks like probably chose it himself in Microsoft Word.

Edit: I just checked and I don't think he has his name anymore, just the logo. Which by the way I only realised about a month ago was MS... I always thought it was just a sort of logoy side view of an F1 car... idiot.

I like the top of Jean's helmet but the rest... I miss the white. To me chrome helmets aren't very distinctive (but are a little bleak).

Mick's helmet would look good in a silver car. Maybe Michael can have a word.

The original Benetton design wasn't really good.

It will be interesting when this chap appears in F3 & GP2. Will he be on the young driver program of Ferrari or Mercedes? Tough one to guess.

A seat will be assured if a reasonable F3 or GP2 finish is taken.

That's the best design by far and very original. His son's helmet should follow the same design but have blue instead of the white perhaps... or better yet use the same colours as good old dad.

I think Father and son or even direct family should run the same colours and helmets, it's nice following on the tradition. Ralf's was the same as Michael's, just black on top. When Michael changed to the all red helmet, Ralf changed to all yellow.

I agree. I like family dynasty helmets. I wish Villeneuve had have worn his old man's colours, but I guess eh wanted to be individual. Same design pattern though. Joshua Hill uses the family colours. Nico Rosberg does, sort of.

Yeah, it looks as though the neck collar is actually holding the helmet above his head.

I do wonder about neck collars in karting sometimes, especially massive ones like that.
