Not being from Europe, I would like to ask any nice person out there what exactly are these products that I see/have seen in Formula One.

AFGA
Iceberg
Candy
Zepter
Roces
Avex
Loctite
Courtaulds
Sanyo
Parmalat

Now, these are companies I have no clue what they are and I have seen them on F1 cars/bill boards in years past. Any info would be appericated.

I'm from Australia, and here's my knowledge.

AFGA - I think you mean AGFA. They sponsored Prost recently. AGFA makes photographic film.
Iceberg - Clothing.
Candy - Washing Machines. This logo was on Ayrton Senna's 1984 Toleman. Italian based, I believe.
Zepter - Insurance. Arrows had this, prominently on Damon Hill's 1997 Arrows.
Roces - Rollerblades. Luca Badoer's Forti from 1996 had this logo. I think the Minardi cars recently had this logo/
Avex - I think it is a Japanese sponsor. I have seen them sponsor Shinji Nakano.
Loctite - mechanical equipment. Sponsored McLaren and Lotus.
Courtaulds - Sponsored McLaren, not sure.
Sanyo - Makes stereo systems, VHS machines, tv's, etc.
Parmalat - Milk, custard, etc. Pedro Diniz's major financial backer in the last few seasons when he was with Ligier, Sauber, and Arrows.

Hope this is accurate enough.

regards,
doohanOK.

Courtalds - They do components for the aerospace industry - carbon fibre and composite materials.

Loctite - Make resin bonding materials and glues

My two cents...

[*]Agfa: German company, manufacturer of photographic and imaging equipment.
[*]Iceberg: Clothing company, part of the Italian Gilmar Group (which itself used to sponsor Minardi).
[*]Candy: Italian company, manufacturer of home equipment.
[*]Zepter: Swiss based company specialised in cosmetics, home arts, and luxury goods. A bit mysterious...
[*]Roces: Italian company, maker of inline skates, ice skates, and casual clothing and shoes.
[*]Avex: I have no cleu.
[*]Loctite: American company specialized in adhesives and sealants.
[*]Courtaulds: Dismantled company, bought by Akzo Nobel in 1998, and then resold in part to the PPG Group.
[*]Sanyo: Japanese company specializing in consumer electronics.
[*]Parmalat Italian company (stands for "Parma Latte" - milk from Parma), maker of dairy products.

A lot of Italian companies in there! :D

[*]S.Olivier: I have no cleu.
[*]Sodexho: French company specializing in food management for large companies and institutions.
[*]Canal+: French TV group, part of the Vivendi corporate empire.

If don“t think what Sodexho serves deserves to be named food!

S. Oliver - German clothing company - either a brand label or a chain of stores or both.

Roces - Rollerblades. Luca Badoer's Forti from 1996 had this logo. I think the Minardi cars recently had this logo/

The logo is certinally on the 1999 minardi.

Megatron, I am surprised that you have not ever seen Sanyo products in shops. I live in Canada and they are very common here, I would be very surprised that they do not import Sanyo products into the U.S. Sanyo makes everything from TV's, VCR's, to wrist watches and kitchen gadgets. I have also used AGFA film in Canada. I am curious to find out whether or not these products are sold in both countries.

Sangyo. AGFA and Loctite are all common names for me here in the States. I guess you could miss them if you've never bought any of thier products.

I believe Parmalat products used to be sold in the States but not any more.

Courtaulds turned up on the Williams because it supplied the carbon fibre for the tubs. They were actually a textiles firm (anyone ever worn Tencel jeans?), providing the useful reminder that CF is more fibre than carbon.

Greetings from Japan:

Looks like there's one sponsor left unidentified. Avex is a Japanese record company. They sponsored wherever Shinji Nakano went; Prost, Minardi and Jordan last year, where he had a test-drive contract (plus Walker Racing in this season's CART series).
