would the Deutz of 1912 still be related to the Ettore Bugatti design of 1909??..perhaps a good place to mention a 1300cc bugatti finished 2ed to a megaliter fiat in the 1911 french grand prix.....[ok,so they were the only cars running at the finish..but a 2ed is still a 2ed!]

For the sake of completeness and to correct some errors.

Times of finishers from 10th to 15th:

10 Cravero - Bellini Florio 30:41'29"2
11 De Prosperis - Maravigna Sigma 31:42'51"4
12 Losa - Catalano Nazzaro 32:16'26"6
13 Lombardo - Lombardo Overland 33:09'33"0
14 Conti - Raineri Isotta Franschini 33:33'07"8 Please note the correct spelling: Ranieri, Fraschini
15 Primavesi - Indenni Primavesi 39:24'00"0 " " " : Indennii

I have also 1......24:37'19"8
4......25:50'08"6 Please note the correct spelling: De Moraes
5......25:56'37"2 " " " : Lopez
8......29:45'20"0 " " " : Costantino

Co-drivers (such as: Insalaco, Airoldi, L'Huiller etc), not necessarily all riding mechanics:
+ Ceirano- Ricciardi (SCAT) broken axle
+ Zavagno- Insalaco (FIAT)
+ De Matteo-Chiesa (Isotta Fraschini)
+ Sandonnino-Livizzano (SCAT)
+ Berra-Ziano (De Dion-Bouton)
+ Airoldi - Florio (Mercedes) left the road, damaged front axle
+ Carreca - Carreca (Metz)
+ Sordi-Ottolini (Florentia)
+ Baldoni-Masi (ALFA) [Alfa Romeo did not exist in 1912!!!!]
+ La Farso - L'Huiller (FIAT) Please note the correct spelling: Lo Faro

I have: Vanucci-Sabatini (Itala) Please note the correct spelling: Vannucci

My data should be safe.

There is an annoying ever growing number of mispellings of Italian words and names in recent motoring literature in English. Since this accounts for the 90% of all that it is printed in our subject, it is too much. There is not a single mispelling of Italian, German, French or Latin (yes!) word in Pomeroy's book (1955), for instance.
I hope that, at least for names, this habit will not spread itself in this Forum also.

Must get a Latin spell checker installed...

Is this right, 1094.5km for a single lap?
Old Florio did know how to set up a Targa, didn't he... might it properly have been termed a trial, then?
