Tiny Alain Prost proudly displays the AP04, the first F1 car with Tractor control.
Paris, France. In a press conference held earlier today,
Monsieur Alan Prost, CEO of Prost Grand Prix, introduced
the car that he thinks will propel his company to the front
of the Formula 1 grid next season.
"After FIA announced that Tractor control will be allowed
next season we immediately started working on a car which
would push the regulations to the limits." Monsieur Prost
said, "We are better prepared then ever."
The Prost Grand Prix had a disastrous 2000 season, their
cars proving neither reliable nor fast. Some experts
blamed the teams lack of performance on the French team
being too slow to implement new technologies on the car.
Whether this was due to the time spent translating FIA
directives into French or other reasons was never fully
explained.
Jean Alesi, Prost Grand Prix star driver, who was very
critical of last season's car, has a more favorable view on
the AP04 "It looks ugly and is very slow, but at least it
is faster than the last one."
