Paul,

At this link you can download some views but not a cutaway.

Hurry because in two days they are gone.

Ibsen,

If I could see you, I would kiss you! Thank you very much for putting me onto these really helpful diagrams.

Much appreciated.

My computer is too slow to open Ibsen's link, so I don't know what is in there. I can tell you that R&T August 1967 has a six page technical analysis of the Tipo 33.

Quattroruote April 1967 has a five page article (in Italian) on the 33 that includes four cutaway drawings (Betti).

Quattroruote January 1968 has a two page article (in Italian) that includes a drawing of the bare frame.

I believe I've seen a couple of other items here at home. Let me know if you think you would find these useful.

Wow, JB. I have found a couple of cutaways in another Autosport thread but not sure whether they are the same as the ones you have. If you search for "cutaway alfa tipo 33), you should find the thread (it's about 90 pages long though)

Many thanks for the offer of help.

Best regards,

Paul.

Paul, could you send me a PM and let me know exactly what you're looking for? Checking my indexes, I've found five more articles here in my home library, all on the Stradale road version of the 33. No cutaways other than those mentioned earlier, which are really of the competition car, not the Stradale. Not sure how much difference there is...

The 'Stradale' is the road coupe of which eighteen were built by Autodelta, it was never raced. Its based on the 33/2 chassis. The nearest I can find to a cutaway drawing is the instruction sheet from the old Fujimi 1/16th plastic kit of the Stradale. Front and rear lift off to reveal engine and suspension etc and the kit instructions show this fairly well, although obviously not every nut, bolt, tube and wire as found on the real car.

Thanks so much for your assistance JB and SWB.

Much appreciated.

Of the 18 chassis, several were used for concept/prototype vehicls made by other design houses, so fewer than 18 Stradales were built, and even less still exist. From my reading, it may be a low as ten, and a few of those are in museums!!!

Best regards,

Paul.

SWB, here are some pics of a racing Stradale. Hillclimbs, not circuit races.

From Autodiva Forum.

Paul, here http://www.sendspace.com/file/4p6a95 a Road and Track - February 1999 article from the web (no cutaway, but a plan view drawing of the Stradalle).

Nice photo's, it looks good doesn't it! I tend to think of a hillclimb as a contest, not a race (ducks for cover)... ;-)

I think at least one Stradale was entered by a gentleman driver in hillclimb or closed-road races, such as Targa Florio or Circuito del Mugello (the old, twisty one running through the hills surrounding Florence).

As soon as I find a photo or detailed info. I'll add it.

Greetings from Milan, Italy,

Marco
