Interesting.
Do you know if there are any of the Serpukhov racing motorcycles from the 1950s still in Russia - in museums or private ownership?
I believe that the Serpukhov factory built 125 cc single cylinder racers, and twin cylinder racers of 250 cc, 350 cc and 500cc.

But the picture is not a motorcycle, manufactured at a plant in Serpukhov. This is the "Java".

Serpukhov institute/factory made single cylinder DOHC 125 and 175cc racers, also 250, 350 and 500 DOHC twins. 350 and 500 cc DOHC four cylinder racers too. They also made twostroke 50cc racing engines, 125 and 175 cc watercooled twostroke racing engines too. And 500cc single cylinder ESO-type motocrossers.
I think most of survived Sepukhov bikes and engines can be found in Baltics and Scandinavia these days.
There was nice collection of racing bikes and engines in Polytechnical Institute museum in Soviet time, but I think it was all sold/stolen etc. in early 90´s.
Early Serpukhov racers(DOHC twins with shaft drive)were tested here in Estonia on now perished Mäo circuit.
