It won't be a matter of getting the sparks at the right time. It will rather be a means of keeping the heads firmly fixed to the blocks -- the main development issue that they only figured out too late.

To get back to the original issue, the BRM teaqm had the benefit of a beautiful Geoff Wilde 2-stage centrifugal blower that did indeed work and would have been much more manageable with the variable-vane inlet throttle which appears in a line drawing in my book IIRC. Failure to use that was unforgivable.

As well the engine was intended to have SU fuel injection at its blower inlet which would have been another helpful amenity.

Love the news that the version of the BRM V16 as first unveiled is to be recreated.

I have always found the sound of the later Mk1 cars super but their looks very ugly!

Another new/replica/continuation BRM V16 is being prepared wearing the original-style press-launch bodywork - when the car looked well-proportioned, sleek and sensational...

Good news but I hope they can keep it cool long enough for me to see it.

Without great need for a 'race-tune' engine, cooling should not pose as great a problem as it did in period...

Picked up issue 12 of Magneto here in Melbourne today. There's a feature on John Owen's V16 continuation with a series of stunning photos.

Same issue has a nice reflection on Robert Brooks and Adrian Hamilton from a chap who larked about with them a bit. Nice piece DCN.

I tell you what.  The spirit of Raymond Mays, and Peter Berthon, and Stuart Tresilian, and Dave Turner, and Tony Rudd - and so many more would really have relished the thought of a future technology which could so vividly share that V16 in-cockpit experience with millions...

I watched the Goodwood clip as well,, they have improved the nmagnetos and used better materials. So now they have a very heavy but powerfull engine only 60 odd years late!!

I dare say that some of the other owners have made all these things work and live.

Just 3 months into publication and Autosport donated the rear cover of issue 14 to promote the BRMA

A bit of optimism from both the artist of the Dundrod programme cover and BRM themselves with the number of entries.they hoped to run.
