Have you ever noticed a circle with a "N" in it on the cars just in front of the cockpit? And another similar one but with an "E", besides the refuelling hatch? All F1 cars have these. What are they? What purpose do they serve?

Strange markings on the F1 cars. What are they there for?

The symbol with the 'E' indicates the location of the electrical kill switch, to be operated by marshalls in the event of a fire.

Actually, I think the a lightning bolt is the international standard for the electrical kill switch. E is for extinguisher.
