I just got signed up for the forum today after some apparent browser related issues. Fortunately for me Geoff Creighton of the forum staff got me into the right spot.
I try to add to the flickr stuff on a regular basis...at least 3-4 times a week so stay tuned. I have many, many thousands of images from which to choose so there should be something there eventually for most of you.
Thank you all again.

Although I was in New Zealand, I followed the series closely for several years. Chris Waddell supplied reports and photos for my fortnightly magazine - but all black and white, of course

These are just stunning , from an Australian owner of an Atlantic.
Many thanks , the one of Gilles with a wheel well off the deck is great.

I spent a lot of time around Chris and thought he was kinda crazy to give up covering the series and start doing stuff in the real world.

As for the shot of Gilles 3-wheeling it....almost every car was that way every lap. Like I said it was one of my favorite places to take pics of the Atlantic cars. Unfortunately for us photogs they had modified the corner when we came back in '78 and the "jump" was gone.

Unfortunately work keeps getting in the way and I don't have as much time to scan and upload as I would like.
I have to admit that sometimes when I start going through my images...somewhere near 75k of them...I get a bit sidetracked and start reminiscing about all the fun I had. Reminiscing can be a serious time consumer. Especially when you're an "old man" like the kids at work keep calling me.
I've added some new old Champ Car stuff.....

More champ car snaps added.....mostly Riverside in '83 and one from Phoenix that year.....

Absolutely awesome yet again, Marc! Thanks!

Wow, my pre-digital collection is less than 10% of your's and that been enough to put me off even making a proper start with scanning. I think I've just run out of excuses!!
I may be wrong, but am almost sure that Chip Ganassi is driving a Wildcat, not a March 83C. I always thought that this model of Wildcat was one of the coolest looking Indycars of all time - and still do!

As for you, speedy27 is it not bad enough that my daughter picks on me for having so much white in my beard?
Isn't it bad enough that the young snots at work call me "old man"?
And then here you come calling me senile just because I misidentified disappropriately some race cars?
I'll have you know that Robin Herd has been paying me huge sums of cash to call those cars Marches!!!

So, after a long nap I'll try to remember what's been said here and make the appropriate corrections.
In the meantime, don't be surprised if you hear from my age-discrimination attorney. Have your checkbook at the ready!!

Ahh but the great thing about Gilles is that he never let it slow him down as per the caption comments. No wonder so many of us loved him!!

have been scanning a lot of preseason testing images the last few days and uploaded some tonight....snaps of the kraco kr-1 that don halliday designed for cart. it ran at laguna seca for two days in '86 and apparently never ran again.
i still have many hundreds of preseason images to go through and upload. it will take a fair amount of time.
