Yeah its strange as it was clear as day Lewis and Jenson drove very well in the last races.
It wasnt strange because he highlighted the qualifying pace, and never mentioned the races itself.

Not overly negative as some suggest in that case.It wasnt strange because he highlighted the qualifying pace, and never mentioned the races itself.

The burning issue is not the fact that Seb was faster than Webber but that he is a better driver than the Mac duo - or so is claimed by one small Mclaren cog.

Oh but Seb's pace relative to Webber's is very relevant. McGrath's assertion is based on an assumption that Webber is extracting the expected high amount from the car, but that Seb is doing something extra special to be find another 4 tenths in quali. If, for example both Seb and Mark were separated by a tenth or less, do you think McGrath would be speculating that the MP4-26 was faster than the RB7?

I agree that the probability of the car being fastest increases when both drivers are close but there is still an outside chance that both drivers were extracting more out of the machine than their rivals.
And if McGrath based his comments on the data they had , then its likely that Webber was actually driving the car at the realistic normal pace .....
