I'm trying to complete the ownership history on a Lotus Eleven I own. I have the history to 1960 which ends in Ft. Worth. I have the history picking up again in 1970 in Lawton, Ok. I'd like to connect the dots. In Ft. Worth the car ran GM with a Coventry engine. It was painted blue and had a Lemans type windshield and was owned by Bill Parham. By 1970 it was powered by a Saab 3 cylinder, had an open windshield and I don't know the owner. What Im looking for is some info on any Saab powered Lotus Eleven that may have raced in the Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Louisiana, etc. area from about 1964-1970.
Thanks.
Billy Hagan, an oil man from Lafayette, Louisiana, who raced a pair of Camaros and LeMans and went on to own a NASCAR team, raced a SAAB-powered Lotus 11, as I recall. By 1967 he had a new TransAm Cougar built for him by Bud Moore for SCCA A/Sedan -- his first race in that car was at Opelousas in 1967. I believe this car replaced the Lotus.
It is also very possibly that Lionel Jeanmard from Lafayette owned the Lotus at some point. He owned a French restaurant and hotel on Pinhook Road in Lafayette.
I have no idea how to contact either now, and I'm not sure either is alive. I have photos of Billy's Cougar, but not the Lotus, and I don't remember the color.
