The Innes part, obviously. Is it IN-ce, or IN-nis?
My wee boy is called Innes (my wife suggested it as a name, but all my friends assume I chose it after II. I just tell them I wanted Jimmy or Jackie......)
I pronounce it Inn-es (with a longer s) or Inn-is (with a shorter s), but he is only 3 months old, so I've time yet to decide on the definitive pronunciation !

Well, No is quite nice...I'd go with Inn-is as well, I wanted to call my lad that but the missus said no.

I agree with your missus, anything is better than calling the lad "That"I wanted to call my lad that but the missus said no.

It was definitely pronounced In--ess ,except for the French in 1959 who insisted on calling him Ives Iveland.
Mind you most time he was known as McGregor to his friends when talking about him .

At least this is how he left messages on my phone when he was running IMSA races.

Ahhhh........ Jack O'Malley..
ZOOOM
If he were the Irish Innes Ireland he may well have pronounced it that way, but he was, in fact, from the Scottish branch of the family...
