No. Just make sure to slow down so not to gain an advantage on time. If a driver does it 3 or more times then they might be a drive through.

It's Monaco, not like they have a choice anyway really. Flat chicanes hardly encourages drivers to overtake, missing a chicane will force you to hand the position back, and even giving an opportunity to the next guy back.

Same as last year: you cannot keep any position you gained by shortcutting a chicane. And they'll warn you if they catch you cutting chicanes repeatedly. Meaning if you do it too often during the race (even without actually gaining or losing any positions) you'll get a penalty eventually. The race is supposed to be driven on the racetrack, not off of it.

Well, as shown last year, at least it resulted in some brilliant action - Rosberg overtaking Massa through Tabac.

If he knew the curbs would most likely damage his car, he perhaps would not have tried it that lap.

If Nuvalari was unable to cut the corner there, why should these recent drivers be able to?

Last year, the stewards were allowing a little bit of leeway. They obviously didn't want to penalise someone for making an honest mistake. But they kept the drivers on a very short leash; anything suspect - ie, constantly making mitakes at the same place lap after lap - would result in penalties. I think the only one really caused any problems was the exit to the Swimming Pool. Massa crossed the Nouvelle Chicane at one point, but it was a genuine error since he just out-braked himself and he gave the postition he gained back (and lost one more in the process). The drivers are smart enough to avoid cutting corners.

Yep, except with the chicane you can get through without having to mount any kerbs (basically just cut the first apex). If you go straight on then you will have to mount those sleeping policemen.

Did yous see Schumacher cut and kind of jink to avoid the sleeping policemen? The trajectory needed to do that is probably slower than just using the track though.

And what happens if a driver on the outside brakes very late to stay ahead, misses the chicane and as a result stays ahead of the other driver? Typically this kind of thing hasn't been punished so easily.
