...like the one after the tunnel. do you get a stop/go penalty or something?
No. Just make sure to slow down so not to gain an advantage on time. If a driver does it 3 or more times then they might be a drive through.

Nice to see them be punished for going off the track for once, imo. This year, they raised the 'elements' behind the chicanes, so it looks like missing one this year might cost you a front wing.

Not if that makes it less likely they will try to overtake.Nice to see them be punished for going off the track for once, imo.

It's Monaco, not like they have a choice anyway really. Flat chicanes hardly encourages drivers to overtake, missing a chicane will force you to hand the position back, and even giving an opportunity to the next guy back. Not if that makes it less likely they will try to overtake.

Yes the time is wiped. And in qualifying? I assume one does not get to score a laptime if he misses the chicane, right?

Well, as shown last year, at least it resulted in some brilliant action - Rosberg overtaking Massa through Tabac. It's Monaco, not like they have a choice anyway really. Flat chicanes hardly encourages drivers to overtake, missing a chicane will force you to hand the position back, and even giving an opportunity to the next guy back.
If he knew the curbs would most likely damage his car, he perhaps would not have tried it that lap.
I don't see why a driver needs to be extra punished by missing the chicane there, as he'd always have to give the place back anyway.

Traditionally there is a barrier there.I don't see why a driver needs to be extra punished by missing the chicane there, as he'd always have to give the place back anyway.
If Nuvalari was unable to cut the corner there, why should these recent drivers be able to?

Yep, except with the chicane you can get through without having to mount any kerbs (basically just cut the first apex). If you go straight on then you will have to mount those sleeping policemen.

Did yous see Schumacher cut and kind of jink to avoid the sleeping policemen? The trajectory needed to do that is probably slower than just using the track though.

The race is supposed to be driven on the racetrack, not off of it.
Didn't watch the Spanish GP aye?

after china this year it's not so obvious what cutting corners isThe drivers are smart enough to avoid cutting corners.

At that time it was hardly a chicane. Don't see the relevance at all.Traditionally there is a barrier there.
