Try them both and see what you think, I haven't noticed any difference.I too have been using practice mode. I guess we need to take a vote on preferred mode. practice is likely I guess more like 'us'

Try them both and see what you think, I haven't noticed any difference.
Practice mode
Stock car
Comfort softs
The physics is identical to arcade
1'30.152
There is quite a bit more time also

It depends if you're fully comfortable with the pad or not, I'm not, I've hardly ever touched it but I saw a tournament recently where it ultimately didn't make any difference the winner got down to the same time as he had done with a wheel.Thats a serious time, Juan! Hope ur using a wheel, dont think ill get into the 30s with the D Pad. Ill have to crack the G25 out when I'm back from xmas
For me the wheel is 1 second faster in the first hour 0.5 seconds quicker in the next 4 hours and about 3 tenths quicker after a few days. But that's me and I'm completely rubbish with the pad.
For the limit on this one I would be aiming for around 1'29.8 but since there's not so many competitors I'll probably leave that time there. I think it would be (and even perhaps will be) more workable if the leaderboards are inserted into the game.

I haven't arsed to play with wheel yet, but will soon give a try with pad. Car is Suzuki Swift with stock condition?

Down to a clean 1m31.4 in the SRPC contest with Dual Shock. Did a 31.0 with a slight cut at Hammerhead. Getting there, Juan!
My driving settings are: everything that can interfere with getting the power down set to off. The only things I have on are 'skid recovery force' and ABS set to 1. Driving on the limit without skid recovery force with the joypad is impossible but I imagine it might be better with a wheel. Juan, do you have it on?

Not going to tell you how many attempts it took...
So, are we on Comfort hard or Comfort soft tyres? I've seen both mentioned...

Did a 5:58.127 in my Toyota 88C at the Ring. Losing big time in some of the fast corners.

I was aiming for a 1'29 because I know its possible, regarding practice mode and arcade, there is absolutely no difference to the physics or the penalties. Just keep plugging away, carrying more speed after braking and braking as late as possible.1.30.xxx time seems plausible but quite unlikely too. You need extremely good lap or shortcutting. Arcade mode I drove my time punished me few times due too tight drivinglines. I have no idea what practise mode says.

And what the **** is up with the "ghost" car? Is it seperated by fastest sectors or the overall lap? It keeps dissapearing...
It must be said that I'm struggling a bit with the fith itteration of my all time favourite game....

Gained a huge amount at Chicago by coming in very hot and braking later and left.
hammerhead there is lots of time to gain at. the last 2 also probably.
So I finally think I can see where sub 1:30 times might come from.

Joystick? I didn't know they even exist for ps3...
The controller is also a joystick. For some reason they dropped calling joysticks for joysticks when they became handheld.
I guess we could discuss that..
but there is two joysticks on that controller at least.
Im thinking about doing that as i don`t have the space for a steering wheel. im thinking i could challenge the steeringwheel drivers with such a setup.
