Hello,

here is the latest kit from Iritani, the Ensign N173 (MN 01) in scale 1/20th driven by
Frederik “Rikky” v. Opel in Paul Ricard 1973.
Does anybody know the actual location from the original car?

Here some photos from the kit.

I always found that to be a very svelte looking car
The colour combined with the pin striping and (thankfully !!!) lack of logos made it one smooth looking racer.
I see the kit has the cool rear end close panel included

Took me a second or two to work out that a 'pin wise' is a pin-vice! Useful little tools...

Is there a possibilty von Opel has it ?

Seems like he coughed enough dineros to get Mo started in F1

after some Googling around, I have found info that a certain Sid Hoole may now own it !

The car was for sale in Yorkshire in 2008 in need of restoration, along with a tub and a great many parts.
I know that someone in Australia was interested in the car, but I believe it sold in the UK - don't know if that was to Sid Hoole

I know it sat in my garage for several years:

There were 3 tubs MN01, MN02 and an unused/unplated one. From memory that's MN01 propped against the wall, MN02 was damaged and I was building up the car around the unused (noticeably lighter) tub. The car came complete with all the original "batmobile" bodywork still with the "Rikki von Opel" signwriting on. There was also some Mike Wilds bodywork and the later cut-down version in red as used by Chris Amon.

The owner ran out of money to resore/run it and after a long time it was eventually sold on but clearly it is still in a state of limbo.

Blimey! I never knew you had those cars Gerald. Do you remember roughly what years you had them?
