One of my favorite street courses. Judging by the layout, it probably shouldn't produce great racing, but it really does.

Michael Andretti "owned" this place as a driver. From 1989-2001, Michael won 7 of the 13 races. The years were 1989, 91, 92, 94, 95, 2000 & 01.

It's not the heat, its the humidity which makes Toronto almost unbearable in July - I was there in '95 staying with my brother, we went to qualifying, but race-day was so hot and humid we sat in the pool and watched it on the box - The next weekend we were in Calgary freezing our balls off watching the seemingly interminable Stampede, which is as oxymoronic description as it gets, moving as it does somewhat slower than a flatulent snail....

Go Tracy....
Paul is filling the stands here.
I had him sign my old Williams Villeneuve hat yesterday.
He smiled when he said; "This hurts me!"

How can someone be eight seconds off, on a 62 second lap?! That's 113% of the pole time!

How is it that the IRL can refuse to renew Marty Roth's license, yet lets Milka Duno keep racing? Ridiculous.

Yeah, it's crazy alright. The most annoying thing is she never shows signs of improvement. When has anyone ever said to themselves, 'Milka did better than I thought she would today'??

After several years of detour from Indy/CART ventures, I am going again to see their race. I had no time to go today (ticket is three days pass), nor I can do it tommorrow, but since I live now a few minutes from downtown area, Sunday is a noise-day. I am afraid before those (promoter) guys will finish with me, I shall be down about $300 - 350 for net 6 hrs at the race track. Could be worse, though.

Why is she still allowed to race? She's constantly miles off the pace, race after race, is a mobile chicane, and quite frankly I'm amazed she doesn't cause more accidents. If she was remotely close to the pace, fair enough, but she seems to constantly be miles off the pace of the next car in front of her, let alone of the leader. Wouldn't be surprised if (assuming there's no yellows in the 1st 10 laps or nobody has to pit to repair damage) by lap 10 (if not sooner) she'll be a lap down, and upwards of 30 seconds behind the car in front of her. If she gets to the end, she'll probably end up at least 5 laps down.

That's 12mph average. There is no way she is down that on straight line, so she must be absolutely hopeless in the middle of the corner. That's huge. We fret about being 1s off the pace!!

Bernie should certainly look at adpoting the US style paddock, instead of inaccessible pit lane garages

If Joe Bloggs in the British GP support race for GT cars, is in a tent in a paddock with his 911 mingling with the fans, should Hamilton and his McLaren MP4 not also be mingling with the fans in a tent in the paddock?

The reason she's currently allowed to race is because she's never run a full season so she didn't need to take the rookie test like Marty Roth did. This is her first full season, so after it she will be forced to take the rookie test and if she fails, she won't be allowed to race.

Looking at the track map, have they put in a minor chicane in the middle of the back stretch there?

No, it's always had a slight wiggle there, but the track is wide enough that the drivers can sweep through it without any trouble.

Sure did - he was brilliant here.

Still remember watching this at like 2am delayed here in Australia and seeing the Krosnoff accident. Still saddens me.

If you watch Milka Duno drive you see that she always has a 1m gap between her car and the walls. I dont know if shes trying not to wreck or she just plain sucks. I think its the latter though.

I think it's both. She doesn't want to get close and wreck the car because she knows she sucks so much that she can't get that close without hitting the wall.

Impressive practice two from Danica - beating both TK and Marco to take 11th. Considering everyone says she can't drive to save her life on street courses, that's pretty damn good.

Let us hope they don't dumb down the rookie test. If Duno can qualify, then I could qualify, and I've never raced anything other than a go kart.

Yet again 8 seconds off the pace, and over 5 seconds off the pace of the next slowest car. Honestly, I know people say she's allowed to race because she's never done a full season so doesn't have to take the rookie test, but come on, she just takes the piss big time every single race with her horrific lack of pace. Sod the 'not done a full season so not taken the rookie test' excuse, she should've had her licence taken away a good few years ago, or whenever it was she started showing just how slow she is. Even if you put her in the fastest car in the field, with a perfect setup, low fuel, new red tyres, she'd probably still manage to be 5 seconds off the pace. She's a total embarassment to motorsport, women drivers, and the IRL as far as I'm concerned. There's absolutely NO reason for her to be allowed to race........well, anywhere, let alone in the IRL.

Well, let's hope she shows the same consideration during the race.

Is it just me, or is it impossible to follow the coverage on indycar.com at the moment? The engine sounds covers the sound of the commentators and live timing is down so I don't know what's going on...

Impressed with Danica, beat Tony there despite Tony being significantly better according to most people.

That's not the point I'm trying to make ;)

Lots of people seem to think that Danica is completely hopeless on road/street courses and might as well not bother, whilst thinking that TK is amazingly awesome. This proves that at least sometimes Danica can be ok. TK is undoubtedly superior on these sort of courses.

Don't waste your breath - in the unlikely event that she ever won the championship, it would be nothing to do with her driving, but purely down to the shampoo she uses...

Touchy much?

You can link to Indycar Radio from the website which is the commentary only. It and the cars in the video mix are loud enough to mostly obscure the too-quiet commentary in the video mix.
