Q. Lots of things have been said about team-mates and the relationship between team-mates. How good is your relationship? Could it be better, could it be worse? Mark, would you like to start.

Mark WEBBER: I think the press are bored. There is nothing else to talk about, so they want to talk about team-mates. That seems to have been the topic for the last 10 days or whatever.

Q. You seem to have chipped in as well though?

MW: Well, the press continually ask and try to put some fireworks on these two. My opinion was exactly as it was. It is not the easiest to have a warm, fuzzy relationship as we are all competitors but we don't hate each other's guts. It's the way it's always been at the front in Formula One, in the 70's, 80‘s, 90‘s and it will continue in the future. It is certainly not rocket science.

Q. And the relationship with your team-mate?

MW: Sensational, amazing.

Q. We have heard this before.

MW: Yeah, it's a broken record.

"Anybody who thinks Lewis and Jenson aren't competitive and won't push each other to the limit are sadly mistaken," said Horner.

Horner you prick they are competitive driver's what do you expect
but then again they are more mature than vettel so dont look to take their fellow team mates out do they. :rotfl:
do grow up you idiot you are rapidly becoming the wannabe ferrari spoilt brat of F1
shame you don't have the heritage to back up anything

He's frustrated that he doesn't have Lewis. Lewis in his inferior Mclaren has been spanking Webber and Vettel on track on many occassions :p

Especially China was pretty funny.

The difference between Red Bull and McLaren drivers is that McLaren drivers are world champions and are not desperate against each other. They seem to accept that whoever happens to be faster is faster and dont risk each other by blocking or other desperate moves. They dont do negative things to beat other, who ever does better wins.

Lets wait and see - this weekend might show that JB and LH are just as desperate as the Red Bull drivers.

Didn't realise offering an opinion made you a prick... Vettel deffinetly intentionally took Webber out, and then got a DNF. Hamilton is by far the most mature driver on the grid...................................................

It's absolutely hilarious to see all the McLaren fans come out in force to protect their teddy bear drivers over a couple of comments, And then tell Horner to manage his own team.

I think that show's more than anything that McLaren fans are worried about a boil over.

I don't think the Red Bull Driver situation can deteriorate anymore than it already has. They have pretty much come out and said Webber and Vettel don't get on, just work well together.

You can't hate on Webber or Horner for giving their opinions, because they are just that. OPINIONS. It's not factual in any way, it's just them replying to a question thats being asked.

You are never friends with your team-mate, despite how much all the McLaren fans want Jenson and Hamilton to get along, they won't. At the end of the day, your team mate is the one guy on the grid you need to beat more than any other, because if your not beating him, he's better than you. It's not to say they hate each other, but when you've got 2 of the most talented drivers on the grid, in the same car, racing for 1 spot, it won't take much.

are Red Bull driver's as friendly with each other as McLaren? of course not. Anyone who has followed Formula 1 this season can tell you that.

But McLaren are now infront. And Jenson and Lewis are both going to be racing for the title. If your a McLaren fan and you think that everything is sunshine and daisy's in the McLaren garage, you may just be in for a very big wake-up call.

Yeah, they don't have to prove anything to anyone they are/were WDC'c,that doesn't mean they will not have a "racing incident" down the track but its good healthy competition and at the moment they seem to have a genuine respect for each according to body-language devotee's anyway.'The opposite is true with RB,they have a major problem the relationship is probaly damaged beyond repair and will only be fixed when one of them moves on.It is degenerating into a Jones/Reutemann type feud, all this is MO of course.

This is just silly, everyone knows that disharmony between teammates is only something that happens to those foreign chaps.
And even if it does happen .. we don't want a fuss made about it. Let's just not speculate..

And only therein also lies the clue to prevent it, when one driver finally accepts the others superiority and gives up the fight. So far I presume that hasn't happened at McLaren, so everything is still possible.

Surely the solution is to pull one driver out due to "tennis injury" and stick Yamamoto in the other car then.

The problem is having too similar drivers (maybe if Prost was teleported to the future then he could lap 0.3s faster than Hamilton or Button anyway - maybe neither is that super?) as much as too good drivers, why not just have one slow one then? :)

Yeah, like CH knows driver-duo's so good ... He doesnt know his own drivers-duo, let alone others. Is it that hard C-whining-H to see a duo that does respect and like each other?

CH, make sure when you start psychology BS that you know what you talk about ...

Its a nice mind-games trick from Webber. Alonso also played one when he compared JB/LH relationship in 2010. with his realtionship with LH in 2007. They called them - similar.

Please, reading that press conference all I got was that all the drivers were taking the mick a bit out of the journos and Fernando was having a bit of fun and showing some good humour. I think everyone's reading WAY too much into all of this.

Your certainly correct about wasting your bandwidth, you should watch that.

Whitmarsh comments on the latest Red Bull controversy:

McLaren boss Martin Whitmarsh said that a situation like this “would not happen in our team” and offered his view on it, ” I think if you are in a very strong position then even more cause to be as fair as you are with the drivers,” he said.
“The cohesiveness of the team is such that you don’t need to set up those kinds of tensions and if you are in a strong position you need to be careful to hold it together.”

http://www.jamesalle...ed-to-be-taken/

(I actually agree with him but come on, all teams will try to unsettle each other if they can. No moral high ground here.)
