What's the use for that?

I was looking through some old Ayrton Senna's pictures and noticed he used tape gloves a lot under his proper gloves.
Then, accidentally, I found Bruno Senna using the same kind of tape gloves, recently, in GP2.

I've got to admit that in modern F1 (and we get to see them put on/off the gloves a lot) I've never seen tape gloves.
I'm sure the racing gloves are pretty advanced and all that for padding and whatnot.

So, why a recent GP2 driver used a tape glove?
Why his uncle did so?

What's the advantage?
Protection for the hand? Wouldn't it reduce some of the hands' sensibility?

I'm puzzled.

You mean he's wrapped his hands in tape or gauze before putting the gloves on? I think that's just to reduce blisters.
