something l always wonder is do the fans at grand prixs sing song about their team and drivers like at football? I never hear anything but maybe its the noise of the cars that drowns them out lol

For eg would u get mclaren fans singing stuff like 'i love you lewwwis and if its quite alright i love you jeeenson...'etc? Can someone thats been to a race please tell me :)

I go to the majority of European grand prix and really only see this sort of thing with the Tifosi, it adds to the atmosphere of the event and creates a good party atmosphere also. I must add though that is nothing that resembles the moronic grunting you hear at Football matches.

Been to a couple of races, and never heard anything of the sort, and to be honest, I don't think it'd happen. It'd be just not work to be honest really, because you know it won't make a blind bit of difference, and because you'd probably not be able to hear yourself sing anyway, whereas in a football match, if you're singing etc about your team, they can hear you, and it'll (hopefully) spur them on to play well and go on and win the game.

Moronic grunting? What a daft comment. Sorry, but it is.

At the Hungaroring last year rowdy Finnish fans were singing along to the tune of 'Where's Your Mama Gone', 'Kimi Raikkonnen, Kimi Raikkonnen'!

I have only witnessed singing/chanting in Brazil.
I was lucky enough to attend the infamous 2003 race. The atmosphere was fantastic despite the weather.

Heard someone singing (to the tune of High-ho silver lining) maybe 2 years ago

'...And it's Hei-kki Kovalainen everywhere you go now baby...'

and a year or so before that

'There was something in the air that night, the stars were bright, Fernando, they were calling out for you and me not for Schumi, Fernando...'

For British fans it is The Chain. I like the baseline but I don't like the Fleetwoood Mac version. Now Florence and the Machine, I love that version.

I was at Monza in 1998, and there were a group of Tifosi singing their heads off before the race, and about 40 yards away there were a group of finnish fans, who were also singing, whenever the Tifosi paused for breath, the chanting went on for near half an hour, first one group and then the other, it was most entetaining.

Why do the fans need to sing when the engines can (literally) do it as well?
