"Fifty Years of Ferrari" by Alan Henry
"Modena Racing Memories" by Graham Gauld
"Remembering the Shelby Years 1962-1969" by Dave Friedman
I was wondering if any of these contained any good information/pictures on Masten Gregory.

Does anyone have these books yet?

I have Modena Memories and don't remember any special pictures of Masten Gregory. Give me a list of your Bibliography and I'll research my collection.

Thanks Dennis! These are the only books that I have questions about right now. I have seen several sports car books at the book store so I know the degree of info that they contain on Masten Gregory. So far the best info I have found on him has been in American Grand Prix Racing by Tim Considine (which I highly recommend if you don't own this one already) and in magazine articles, especially Road and Track.
Masten's brother gave me photo-copies of some great information found in some books published in the 1950's. To my surprise, Masten was considered the top American road racer during this time especially after his Nassau sports car victory late in 1957. Let me know if you ever come across this book titled, "Omnibus Book of Speed." He was also the leading American Jaguar driver in U.S. in 1953 so perhaps I could find some great info in any books on Jaguar.
There is a great book coming out on Sports Car racing this August that I had seen in Racer Magazine that is highly detailed and exhaustive that supposedly covers every sports car race in the world from 1950-1999.

Joe--
There are six references to Masten in Henry's book. No pictures, though. There is a very short paragraph and a couple of pictures in Schlegelmilch's Portrait of the 60's. There are almost certaimly some pictures as well in Tom Burnside's American Racing. But the book you just have to have isAmerican Sports Car Racing in the 1950s, by Lynch, Edgar, and Parravano. The latter is the the son of Tony Parravano, whose cars Masten often drove, and who has provided many photographs of Masten for the book, including the cover. You will die for this book, which is the best thing on the subject I have found to date. Barnes and Noble routinely stocks this.
E-mail me and let me know if you have a fax number. I don't have a scanner, so the only way to send you articles right now is by fax. I am slowly looking through old magazines and books for stuff on Masten, and I will send you, among other things, henry Manney's CLASSIC article on the 1965 Le Mans race, which I think was the best he ever wrote.

Fast One, I have seen that book by Lynch but I was disappointed with the written content on Masten. It did have some excellent pictures of him and even one of his brother, Riddelle. Riddelle said they misspelled his name and then it had said that he was blind in one eye which he said that he wasn't. He had been in a bad car wreck in Northern California coincidently on the same day that James Dean was killed and he did have a problem with his vision since one of his eyes sat lower than the other(due to a broken orbital bone) but it resolved to where he still had 20/20 vision in it, so he didn't want to have surgery to repair it. He knows Michael Lynch and pointed these errors out to him when he seen him later.
Overall, that book concentrated on three teams and I don't think Masten drove that much for any of them.
