I know this subject has been done to death for Formula One, but I've never seen one for MotoGP or Motorcycle racing in general. So I'd just like to hear your views on the best corners/sections in MotoGP.

I will start it off with.... The Corkscrew (let's get this one out of the way) what can I say, certainly the best slow corner in the world.

P.S. Sorry for the question mark

Does it have to be MotoGP tracks? All the good corners in the world of bike racing are on road circuits!

Slight exaggeration there...maybe.

Doohan Corner and Lukey Heights - Philip Island

Meeuwenmeer - Assen TT

Casanova/Savelli and Biondetti Chicane - Mugello

Just some. Bikes are great because they tend to have to let off for most corners(unlike openwheelers with massive grip from tires and downforce), making even the simplest of corners a big test of bravery.

Woodcote amazed me when they modified silverstone. I thought, why do they need new runoff at woodcote when it's not even thought of as a corner in F1. I don't know much about bikes but apparently it's a tough corner.

crazy isn't it...

in the opposite way, maggots and beckets is legendary in F1, yet pretty average on bikes

the last couple of corners at Barcelona are awesome on bikes. they don't run the crappy chicane like they do in f1

The mountain section on the Snaefell Mountain Course.

Thinking about it, pretty much every section on that track is fantastic.

Going to go with the cliches. Paddock Hill, the old Dingle Dell, and turn 11 at Salzburg.

I would say the Mountain section is probably my least impressive bit! It does have some amazing corners still.

I've got a soft spot for the run up from the Old Hairpin to McLeans at Donington Park (long may it run), as a lot of my bike spectating has been there.

Turn 1 at Brno's pretty hardcore, as is the Sachsenring's 'Waterfall' kink (running it backwards on the old Xbox MotoGP game was a blast :stoned: ). And as people have suggested, just about every turn from the great old road courses is legendary.

Even though tragic, I think the sequence of fast right hand corners at Misano is quite challenging and fun to watch.

Corners 1 and 3 at Phillip Island are out of this world. Do you guys remember Casey Stoner drifting it through turn 3 at some 250 km/h last year?

For a slow corner the corkscrew is great.

Specific corners for me would be:

Mathers Cross at the NW200,

Deers Leap at Dundrod,

Bray Hill, Hillberry and Creg By Baa at the Isle of Man :)

In Motogp The "Waterfall" at Sachsenring is spectacular. Woodcote also. At Donington from Craner Curves right to McLeans is great, flows brilliantly. Most of Phiilip Island is great! Oh and the last half of Assen too!

That's the art of mastering Car and Bike racing, circuits hold different challenges for both!

I remember someone saying something on these forums like Cars need tight corners (short radius) for overtaking whereas Bikes need windey corners (long radius) to overtake.

Anything downhill and off camber

There are some fantastic tracks on the Moto GP calendar though. Love Brno.

Plenty of love for the corkscrew here

and I know its for motogp but the only thing that tops motogp bikes in the corkscrew is a V8 car through The Chase at Bathurst
