Eureka!
I think it was Dennis David's contact that made it happen.
Thank you Dennis and all the others who offered addresses and contacts.
I finally cracked it for all the info I need (I hope, it hasn't arrived yet) on Tony Gaze's solitary race at Brooklands in 1939.
They have it in the mail.
Suitably inspired, I would like to ask if anyone has any magazines with stories on, or columns by Jack Brabham.
Currently I still am putting together his early career (in great detail) on the speedway and with the little Coopers and the Cooper-Bristol before he went overseas.
Eventually I will get to his later career. In preparation for that, am gathering the above information.
Mainly I am after information "from the horse's mouth".
I speak to Jack often and he is extremely helpful but, like all of us, his memories are very strong in some areas, not so much in others. Stories and columns like this might trigger some more memories.
Jack did a regular column in the English magazine Motor Racing through 1966. I would like to have copies (photocopies or scans would be great) of these if anyone knows where they can be found.
Also, good quality interviews from obscure magazines, likewise.
If anyone does have a collection of Motor Racing, Denny Hulme did the column in 1967 (how good were they at picking world champions?). It would be nice to get hold of these also.
I think, too, that one of the smaller annual books (Grand Prix Racing International?) did good interviews of the world champion each year back in those days. These also would be nice to have, from Jack and Denny.
Can anyone help?
