Longest of long shots here -
1979 at the Nurburgring (don't remember the date) there was the F2 Championship meeting at which one of the supporting races was the EFDA Euroseries/German Championship FF16000. (There were several UK teams there.)
Does anyone have any photos of the FF race/qualifying that weekend? Or know of any photographers from that era/area?
Don't expect much response but this forum seems capable of great things sometimes!

Would that be the year that John Village won it in an RP26?

Yes it was. I think he beat Thierry Tassin.

Not an answer to your question but at least a date for the race: Eifelrennen on 29th April 1979, according to the excellent F2 Register: http://www.formula2.net/F279_7.htm
Although the Programme covers site provides a picture of the programme, there's no mention of Formula Ford! But that could be misleading: http://www.progcover...gring290479.jpg
Just found a point standings from the former EFDA site, giving the date as 8th July 1979, so disregard the Eifelrennen date, but then no F2 either.
The top-10 point scores was as follows (there might have been non-registrated drivers among the actual top-10):
1. John Village (GB), Royale RP26
2. Rick Morris (GB), PRS RH1
3. Thierry Tassin (B), Van Diemen RF79
4. William Moore (GB), Royale RP26
5. F. Ribero (BR), Van Diemen RF79
6. Cameron Binnie (GB), PRS RH1
7. Peter Jelinski (D), Tiga
8. J.-P. Devaux (B), Crossle
9. Hans Volker (NL), Crossle
10. Bo Martinsson (S), Royale RP26

OK - I've just found an original race program.
Thanks and sorry for misleading you all.
6-8 July '79 - It was the Europameisterschaft for touring cars meeting and the FF1600 event was a Townsend Thoresen European round.
Don't know why I thought it was F2 that weekend.
Still would like to see any photos though.
