I am trying to piece together the history on a white Alfa TZ 2 that raced in the USA around the 1970s and 1980's. During this period, the car was WHITE and it had oval covered headlights (no driving lights in the lower headlight area). Any pictures or information appreciated.

Hello Les,

I take it that you are the same person that started the thread concerning this topic on the Alfa Bulletin Board.
Try the site www.zagato-cars.com and see what info it holds for you.

I'm guessing most of the TZ2's were red, so there wouldn't have been many white ones. However, there was a white TZ2 raced in Australia in the late 1960's by Max Brunninghausen :

The nose of this car was destroyed a least once during racing in 1968. I'm not familar with the US car you mention above, but if it had a slightly non-standard nose and headlight arrangement could it be that it was because it was the ex-Australian car that had to have its nose rebuilt (though I guess it wasn't the only TZ2 to suffer this fate):

Hello Jager,

If this is the car that Les is refering to, we are talking chassisnumber # 750112. Have a look at:

Thank you for your suggestions, I actually used to own car 750112 after Max Brunninghausen. Later it went to Michael Robinson breifly, then Geoff Hopkins, then to John Whiting and lastly to Royce Fullard before leaving Australia. You are right about the nose on 112, it was altered while in Australia.

But, this is not the car I am seeking information on. The car I seek to learn more about is all fibreglass.

Thanks,

Les

Hello Les,

Thank you for that information! Another piece of the puzzle of #750112 solved!!
The other TZ-2 I know of that was in the USA was #760116, that was or is still being owned by Said Marouf.
I can't find any info that suggests that another TZ-2 in white has been a long time resident in the USA.
Maybe other members have a clue?

Hello Les,

Have a look at the history of TZ-2 #750106. It hasn't had a history in Australia but was the car was painted white and it raced in the USA.

#106 was sold by Symbolic to a German collector. The car is now- like all in his collection!- painted black.
