This is a wonderful design for model airplane engines as the propeller is attached to the rotating sleeve through the head at half engine speed.
Total loss fuel oil lubrication, and small size, takes care of any heat and lubrication problems. The propeller at half speed allows more power from the engine.
In scaling up to inline engines I see a configuration problem in the exhaust and intake being at 90 degrees to each other and not 180 degrees and a question mark over
Lubrication and cooling as the heat path past the sleeve is convoluted.

Is it? As yet, I can't see how. My interest was always scale, and turning a big prop at a sensible speed was the aim, so if this does it without a gearbox it's cool. This is a wonderful design for model airplane engines as the propeller is attached to the rotating sleeve through the head at half engine speed.

Ooh, thanks! However, there are significant differences between the CAD illustration and the two sections on the site - notably, the absence of the glow plug in the sections. It's made my modelling fingers itch...http://www.rcvengines.com/rcv60sp.htm

I see PGO Scooters in Taiwan are mentioned at the site as clients for a 125cc engine which has many 2006 dates but the current PGO website makes no mention of the engine anywhere.

I think that they have a glow plug to the side in a similar position as the spark plug in an aspin rotary valve spark plug , about 70 degrees further on than the intake port,Ooh, thanks!
