I received an invitation to join this group-presumably others on TNF did also. I did a search on this forum and couldn't find any mention of it. Here is the latest correspondence from them:

Holiday Greetings from the Management of the Vintage Racing League.

During 2010, we successfully moved forward with our goal of becoming the leading community for people that love racing and cars by surpassing 10,000 world-wide members, (10,551 as of 12-28-2010).

Additiionally, we strengthened our objective of becoming the "virtual Museum of automotive history" by opening the Texas Museum of Automotive History in Fair Park Dallas, TX USA November 20th, 2010 - see: www.tmah.org

On December 11th, 2010, the Museum was recognised by the IRS as an approved 501-c-3 non-profit organization. The Museum contains approximately 80 cars and showcases the inter-development between commercial cars and race cars from 1901 (when racing first started in Fair Park) to 1984 (when the 1984 USA F1 race was staged in Fair Park).

Fair Park contains the largest collection of art deco facade building in the world and was the site of the 1936 Texas Expo (World-Fair). Please visit when your travels take you to or through Dallas and mention the VRL for a 10% entrance discount.

I first got into vintage racing 10+ years ago (I originally helped Huron Racing make Formula Fords and Formula 5000's in Byfleet Surrey in the 1970's).

I have never been involved in a sport where your fellow competitors will stay up all night to help you fix your equipement so that you can compete against them the next day.

I am constantly amazed at the good will and commraderie that cars and racing create :-))

I have two requests:

- If you own interesting cars in Europe or the USA that you show in concours events and/or race in the USA and would like to store them in a central location (Dallas), please send me an email at spage@thevrl.com

- We would like to grow our community to 20,000+ members. We need your help. Please send the attached link: http://www.thevintag....com/How_to.pdf to car friends and invite them to become VRL members.

If we are successful in reaching our 20,000+ member goal, we will create a Merchant Co-op to provide VRL members with global discounts on the products and services we use to support our love of vintage, historic, classic and antique cars.

Thank you for your shared affection and passion for racing and cars.

Warmest regards and best wishes for a successful, fun and safe 2011

BTW - I'll send a great bottle of wine to the first VRL member that sends me the correct ID of the car exhaust system shown above - spage@thevrl.com
