I have a CD rom that came with a Gilles Villeneuve book. I finally got around to watching it yesterday. It carried the typical stuff, a few interviews, and of course that HORRIFIC scene where he dies. The CD ended with a song called "No. 27". Horrible, and makes you quite sad --- pretty rauchy at parts with guitar riffs, etal. I CAN'T get the tune out of my HEAD! "Number 27 is Villeneuve!"

Do you know of any F1 related songs? Any of them every make it big?

errmmmm i have heard that there might be a cd:-fly schumi fly by *cough*david hasselhoff
course that sort of stuff wouldn't be available in this country ;)
i found a compostion called michael schumacher-ferrari in napster, nice noise.
but as far as im aware dj visage is the most sucessful.its not bad stuff even if you don't like dance.
there is a jazz artist peter king who has an album devoted to senna called tamburello.virtually impossible to get hold of though :(
chris rea has soundtrack devoted to ferrari from the film la passione.he also makes an appearance on christoper hiltons audio account of senna life with sauade.which he wrote in the immediate aftermath.

Chris Rea is also author of song called Johnny needs a fast car, it's on his record called Espresso. I've been singing this song during nearly every race of 2000 season: "Johnny needs a fast car, Johnny needs it BAD!" Maybe in C.A.R.T. he'll get it :)

DJ visage is great. I also have one similar to DJ Visage called POLE POSITION but instead of Shcumacher it says Hakkinen. It also has a vit of Murray walker commentary from Fromula 1 97 on Playstation. Dance music wise - its pretty good.

George Harrison (of The Beatles fame) did a motor racing related single once - I think it was about Nige. Can't remember the title.

Rick Wright of Pink Floyd did an album called, I think, Copa Americana, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Although I do have an album or two of his (Broken China?) and I didn't think much of it.

Has anyone heard Sammy Hagar's "Let Sally Drive". Not F1 related, but one of the best driving songs to come out in a while (assuming you are into the genre).

Group: Robbie Williams
Title: Supreme

Turn on your radios folks and there is a good chance that u will hear it. Or better yet turn on MTV and check it out.
The video is about Jackie Stewart and fictional(?) driver Bob Williams (aka Robbie himself).

There are some nice clips there from past F1 day's of glory.

ps. the song is really good too.

One of the Prodigy 'songs' has what sounds like an Indycar throughout

Music for the Jilted Generation - Speedway (theme from fastlane)

funny how that works :)

The George Harrison song was about Ronnie Peterson, and none other than Jackie Stewart was in the video, driving the car Harrison was singing in.

I have two songs.

Fleetwood Mac - The Chain. It has one of the most obvious F1 tunes ever. Sounds really cool.

Thin Lizzy - China Town. Also has loads of riffs which you would automatically identify with F1.

Apollo 440 did a limited edition tune called Raw Power which featured the sound of a Williams Renault F1 car and a picture of Graham Hill on the cover.

They also do the current F1 ITV theme tune and the track is on their latest album "Gettin' High on your Own Supply".
