What events did JB run in Australia 1955? Bathurst/ Orange ? in Oct, 55 AGP Pt Wakefield Oct, Southport Nov, Fishermans Bend....?... then Orange Jan 1956... Doesnt look like Bathurst/ Orange/ Pt Wakefield/F Bend . Where indeed on any of those circuits is there a left hand bend like that -- or a signposted road perhaps off to the right To some extent we need to see the other photos in the set, for clues over and above the " Southport 1954" caption. What do the (backwards) signs say?

The signpost points to S'port Bundall to the left so this is obviously Olympic Corner as advertising confirms.
He didn't run at Fishermens Bend as that was also Bathurst weekend in October, but also ran at Mt. Druitt on October 23, but didn't appear there at the November 6th meeting, which would be because he was at Southport.

Some confusion probably arises with the photo caption because at the November 6th, 1955 Southport meeting, one of the events was the "Queensland Grand Prix". It was won by Steve Ames in the ex Davison Alfa Romeo P3.
Brabham carried #6 on his rear-engined Cooper-Bristol at this meeting, but retired in the Qld GP. It looks like '6' on the car in the photo.

Nowhere else looks like that, except maybe one corner at Gnoo Blas and even that is doubtful. I have some similar ones, which I have posted over the years.

Steve Ames = Count Stephen Ouvaroff, who later raced Ausper/Cooper etc in Europe
Was that who the eulusive nobelman really was?
I never knew

Steve Ames was the name adopted by young Count Ouvaroff when he was a young Australian
