I've been contacted by an author friend in America for help. He has been commissioned to write a History of American riders at the TT and although he has a fairly complete record from the beginning up to 1999, he has run out of sources from that date on to the present. Do any of you either have, or can suggest where he might find such records? I have suggested the A-CU and also the various I.O.M. sites who might have kept copies of programmes but any help you can offer would be appreciated.
The author in question, Steve Thompson, is a motoring journalist who has written previous books on bikes and has ridden in the Island himself, so it's a subject he's very keen on.

I met Dale Singleton, very nice bloke by the way, in the IOM was there some controversity regarding his start money? One potetional ace could well have been Pat Hennen "Quote from MCN, Sheene about Hennen, if you pay peanuts you get monkeys" well that was one monkey off his back after the TT ! Anyone got that shot of Sheene sideways at Brands trying to slowly slowly catch a monkey !

A shot of Dale Singleton's bike at the TT...not sure of the year....
1981.
And I'm sorry, but I cannot spot that thread heading without my hard-hammered memory bank clicking out "A. Aharonian (BSA)."
