Tribute is being paid to the late Hugh Dixon in a new exhibit at Le Musee du Rock'n'Roll. We are calling for submissions, photos and information about Hugh for our upcoming summer exhibit. If you know anything about his long racing career in the 1960s & 1970s, competing in his 1955 D Type Jaguar, Austin Healy Sprite & “Miss Contessa” (1966 Hayman SR2 Can Am Spyder) or anything about his early career as a Quebec City deejay at CJQC and his Rock'n'Roll years playing in The Del-Mars, The Lincolns & as a solo guitar instrumentalist, please contact me.

Hi Tim and thanks! I did see those 2009 posts. I'm trying to locate actual photos (or high quality scans - preferably in color) & even film footage if any exists... of Hugh Dixon at the wheel, posing with a trophy... or something of that nature for our display. If any of the guys here has such material in their collection, I'd sure like to hear from you! Any help would be very much appreciated. Alex

Hugh Dixon raced XKD545 a car that finished up in Australia
it is interesting just how many D types and XKSS were in Canada and were raced there and unfortunately even with all the info available we still havn't been able to fill all the gaps and identify who ran which car

My name is Laurie Dixon and Hugh Dixon was my Dad. I live in Montreal and have some old pictures etc...from the racing days and music career. My Mom still has a bunch of stuff. I just found your post by fluke and am sure it is too late but if there is anything I can do to help with the exhibit, I'd be very happy to do so. Cheers!

Rather late I'm afraid, but I've only just discovered this thread.

Laurie, I'm so very sad to learn of your Dad's passing.

Hugh's D type was always my favourite car and we enjoyed lots of fun at Mosport Park & St Eugene back in 1963-6 when I attended McGill.

He was a wonderful guy and such a pleasure to be with.

Oh my, those years have passed so quickly.

Alex, if there's a URL where any of the old photos are available to view then it would be much appreciated.

Unfortunately I have none surviving from that period.

I first met Hugh April 1963 in Montreal with my cousin Brian Dodd at a place called Cambridge Motors at the far end of St Catherine's Street

We used to go racing at St Eugene most weekends in the Summer

Never knew Hugh's middle name was Dodd

Perhaps this wasn't just a coincidence !
