Can I get some info from people about the '99 Monaco grand prix, no mention of Executive Air and yachts charters please. I will be on a camping holiday in France and would love to travel to Monaco that weekend to see the Grand Prix. I hear that there is a spectator’s hill over looking the circuit. Any help???

I went two years ago, and it is magnificent. There is a spectator hill right before the main straight. From the right spot on the hill, you can see the cars go around the swimming pool and then when the go right in front of you. From the wrong place on the hill, you'll be lucky to see the cars at all. If your eyesight is good, you can see the TV all the way across the harbor. I was able to see it well enough (in the rain) to tell that Schumacher had gone off briefly. The track entrance is minutes away from the train station. Chances are you will be able to buy tickets for Secteur Rocher on race day, and if not, there will be many people willing to sell you a ticket outside the gate. Good luck.

I travel from the US to Monaco every year for the GP, and it's spectacular, but I'm not too sure you'll see much from the Rocher. If you get there really early, you might have a shot. Unfortunately, it's already too late to get good tickets (even if you can afford them) from anyone except a ticket broker, as they sell out as soon as they're available. Nevertheless, it's a great atmosphere- you can, if you know the lay of the land, see drivers, pits and paddock, at least to some extent, which is more than I can say for any other race on the F1 circuit. Anyway, good luck. If you need details about Monaco or the race, let me know and I'll do my best to fill you in.
