Magoo probably knows this already but according to this article
http://www.freep.com.....ext|Auto News
Pamela Fletcher, who is the global Chief Engineer fro the GM Volt once did an internship at McLaren engines ( US I presume).
Maybe she would have some informed ideas on 2013 KERS.

I saw this, too! Everywhere else, you work. At McLaren, they are very efficient so the activity performed there can be described with one less letter.LOL is that a Freudian slip in your title there, M? McLaren's UK HQ is in Woking.

I see. My understanding is that McLaren Performance in Livonia MI is owned by Canadian Tier-1 supplier Linamar and is as much related to McLaren Cars as Cosworth Racing is to Cosworth Technology (now Mahle Powertrain). I interviewed at Cosworth Technology in June 2000 but took a position with a competitor later that year.

McLaren Performance is the former McLaren Engines of Detroit that was originally founded to do the big-block Chevy engines for the McLaren Can-Am cars. While associated with Bruce McLaren, I believe it was always separate from McLaren proper. When the Can-Am went away they got into building Turbo Offies for the McLaren Indy cars and were also involved in BMW's early turbo development. Teddy Mayer's Indy car team was also based in the facility, which is on 8 Mile Rd in Livonia. The company phased into customer and OE work of all kinds and went through an owner or two including a venture capital firm; is now a division of Linamar, as TDIMeister noted above. The bulk of the company's current work appears to be non-glamorous OE stuff. A lot of people have worked there over the years and are now spread out all over the industry...they should do a reunion; it could be held at Joe Louis Arena. I was over there not terribly long ago for a dyno test. They give great dyno.
...a number of former GM Performance Division people are now over in the Volt program.

I know a bunch of engineers that went and 'hid' in the hybird / electric car part of GM during the big balls up that they had a year ago. Those programs are looked well upon by the government, so there's no way they'd get cut. Now that GM is risen from it's grave, everyone is moving back into car programs that they actually might want to drive instead of the oversized golf cart.
