I remember #10 Walker but cant remember his first Name!! I think thats his dads name (Ian) on the fairing.

He went well at Croft & Carnaby and had a TZ750 and RG500, I seem to remember his dad was a butcher and at one point he put up some steaks and other prime cuts of meat as prizes at some of the Racing 50 Club meetings.

Edited to say, and #66 looks like Dave Shearer?

And again to say, had the old brain on charge for 30 minutes and it came back, KEITH Walker!!

Yes well done, Keith Walker, Dave Shearer & Steve Hodgson. Keith was a mate of mine, he was known as "The Bacon Slicer " as his dad owned NEBCO ( North East Bacon Co. ) Last I heard Keith had a chippy in Bishop Auckland

What about 224 & 54 ???

No fooling you lads, Tony Rodgers was one of the hardest brakers I 've ever seen, regularly lifting the back wheel braking for Tower at Croft, a great rider.

The only one you lot might not get is No.186, the shot of Steve Tonkin is one of my favourites as it shows Olivers Mount before the Farm bends slowed down the start / finish, Steve Tonkin was without doubt the nicest bloke I ever met in racing and a real flyer, this shot shows him winning on a Rotax ( Cotton ?) or other variation.
The shots of Roger Marshall are at the same meeting, it's a real shame riders only ride in one class now.

Good grief ! How many riders used Barry's spare bikes or fairings at that meeting ! :)

From the " Sheene 500 TZ on e'bay thread... :

It's Oliver's Mount, that's for sure

Edit. Mick's fairing livery looks somehow familiar...

I'm sure I remember Roger Marshall using a Sheene fairing at Scarborough - 1980?

Oh, and we know from the thread in question that #31 on the far right is a gentleman called Ian Bell

That's it Greg, Keith Lewis won the Darley Moor championship with it in a TZ chassis after John parted with it, I bought it from a chap in the far north of Scotland who had it in an LC chassis and was using it as a field bike.

Makes me wonder what happened to all the TZ chassis after the motors were fitted to Maxtons, Spondons etc as well as sidecars.

If they were TZ Fs, I hope that they were melted down - too many killed on that one.

True, I remember the cracking headstocks on the 250 & 350S, they'd be sued for that now.

Plus the 350F pistons were well known for cracking through the gudgeon pin hole and coming apart...

Speaking of TZs this is my 250E in 1980, I bought it from a lad called Hans Hart in Stowmarket and it was a beauty, Lockheed calipers and a rear Dymag. I kept it until 1987 when I decided to buy a classic sidecar ( Windle BSA ). I advertised it in MCN and who should ring but one Neil Tuxworth who came down to see it, he bought it for £575 claiming he was buying it for his mechanic to race in club events. Sometime later I was at a Classic club meeting at Cadwell and there on a 250 Suzuki is the tank from my 250. I always hoped he hadn't just broken it for parts but who knows, I wouldn't have sold it if that was his intention.

A lot were converted to F2 spec using modded YPVS motors I think.

That's a belter of Digger on the Moriwaki at some cold english track in 1981...!
Dunno who the bottom one is, but it's certainly and ex Henshaw RG, isn't it? Don't bother changing anything but the sponsor's name!
And a rare shot of Katayama at Scarborough on that startline shot.

Nice shots of Dave Potter at the Memorial too
