After today I was very impressed; last year he went out and won the championship. Good job really, I think he is just about there now.

No. But if he can show that his racecraft has improved and can match the consistency of his raw speed (though as always, so hard to say how much of that comes from the car) I might change my mind.

Would love to see them exchange cars for a test week or see them race (again) in equal cars. Will all never happen of course.

Vettel can drive very cosistent when he is on front and then makes almost no mistakes, when he is behind a car he is lacking overtaking skils if you ask me. Lewis is more complete, that's why I am one of his fans.

He certainly is. Sure he made some mistakes last year but he is crazy young.

No, he's head and shoulders above them... he'll win twice as many WDC's as both of them put together.

He's a phenomenon.

i think its far to earli to tell and we need to see him against a few more team mates, webber never stood out to me and often he was fairly close to vettel.

im not even sure hamilton is in the same league as alonso tbh not yet anyway as he does still have alot of rookie agression, thats why alot of people like him i guess but its risky and can cost championships.

alonso is definetly more complete

This will be happen only if he has every year the best car.And this is impossible.

In wheel to wheel situations he has demonstrated weaknesses too often so far.
In pure speed, yes.

Not yet, mainly because he hasn't showed yet that he has the full package. He is at least as fast as they are, though.

Alonso is more complete driver right now.
Vettel can be the best of his era in 3-5 years.

No, but he's improving. Last year when he had to overtake (in the best car on the track) he often made a hash of it. He hasn't developed much race craft yet but he's bloody fast, on raw pace he has to be one of the best.

No, he cant overtake competitive cars, and needs to prove himself in a less dominant car.

Me too. I know the technical side is important, but I do wish a guy like Adrian Newey wasn't able to add a lot more speed to a car than any driver. It does make it so impossible to ever tell who is really the best out there.

As fast as Hamilton and Alonso, yes. Driver skills still developing.

Same class, no.

No sign that he is a liar like Lewis or a cheat like Alonso.

Alonso and Lewis are not the 2 best drivers, they might be in the top 5 but there is nothing like the 2 best drivers, just another cliche branded around the forum. Saying that I think he would destroy ALonso in the same team

Like a STR?

Well he's just as quick as Lewis and Nando, at the very least. There are doubts over his overtaking skills, but his consistency in the final races of last year impressed me. If his engine didn't blow in Korea he would have won all of the last 4 races. So yeah I think he's just as good.

I think talent wise, he is just as good as Hamilton or Alonso. However, we all know talent alone doesn't cut it (Raikkonen). I do think he has the commitment to his racing to, coupled with his talents, become one of the greats!

We'll see, I guess, if he can keep this up this year, he might end up a 2 time Champ, who could deny him being in the same class as Hamilton and Alonso then? His racecraft will improve, he's not dumb and he appears to learn fast from his mistakes. He's certainly extremely fast.

Vettel is just about as fast as anyone when out in front - when he is lower down the order occasionally his racing decisions are questionable and some of his overtaking attempts have been dire - but this could be down to lack of experience. This year will tell us far more

Alonso has all the tools at his disposal, Hamilton is not far behind and has more raw pace than I've seen from any recent F1 driver

Barely won a championship despite having a insane car advantage, crashed into most of his main rivals and threw a tantrum when he crashed into his own teammate forcing red bull's no 1 driver policy into the open.

No. Not a chance, he has been overrated courtesy of his cars embarrassment of riches and even then nearly screwed up last year when the championship should have been tied up many races before the end.

JB won 6 out of 7 races and we dont say he is in that class.
I would like to see Vettel vs another yardstick, not just Webber before I can be sure about just how quick.... no doubt, he is quick but does he have that extra Fred or Lew tenth, or is he just JB quick.

I believe, you put JB in the Red Bull and he racks up poles and wins too...and would have probably won the WDC more comfortably last year.....

There is a flaw in your poll - second answer covers two options (he is better, he is worse).

unlike some of Hamilton's overtaking attempts last year... and Alonso's inability to overtake Petrov and his own team mate.

Wow can some people just forget the past. Vettel won end of. And it wasnt down to alonsos inability, it was down to the regulations and the dirty air syndrome.

I think Kubi, Hami and Alo are the current F1 drivers with the most talent. Sebi comes after that in my view, he is a learned driver, not driving 100% on raw talent like the 3 from above.

I agree. To be objective, there should be better/equal/worse options in the poll. (And even that would still assume that Hamilton and Alonso themselves are in the same class.)

About the question: It's almost impossible to answer, but I guess any team mate would have a hard time against Vettel. Before 2009, I didn't believe anyone could regularly beat Webber in qualy.

If Jenson was in the car instead of Seb he'd win a few races, but not many poles. Qualifying definitely isn't his strong point.

I think if Lew, Seb and Nando were all driving Red Bulls yesterday, they'd all be within 1/10th of each other. They're very even on pure pace IMO.

Please tell me which part is an exaggeration. Did he not take until the last race to win the championship? did he not crash into several of his rivals? Did he not throw a very public and embarrassing tantrum after crashing into webber in turkey? was the red bull not the fastest car by a country mile last year?
