Martin whitmarsh just said perez's drive was "incredible" , strong words, only one race but a future replacement when JB retires? i know its a long way off and very early in his career but just speculating, kimi went there from sauber after one season so who knows?

the guy was all over massa with 1 less stop

it was fun to watch when massa came into pits, that perez was still able to use the drs on the straight

Peter Sauber must be grinning from ear to ear, his gamble on young drivers is looking very very VERY good right now.

Woah, let's calm down a bit. Perez drove well but it's a bit hard to put the first race into proper perspective. That could be his only points finish of the year and the only time he finishes ahead of Kobayashi for all we know.

I don't think anyone is really judging him. I my case, I'm simply acknowledging a good performance, and great way to start his career!I will judge him after a few races not 1

hahaah! You're being too kind with "couple of crashes" just losing to Kobayashi once or twice should suffice in a few people calling for his head!!!!! lolMy post was aimed at those that were linking him with McLaren or Ferrari, couple of crashes and it will be 'who should replace Perez ?' threads so while it is an encouraging start by him it is far too early to tell how good he is but he was good today.

Almost 40 laps on soft tyres is impressive. Makes you wonder why others pitted 3 times.

Oh come on. He conserved tyres automatically while being stuck behind other cars.
It's not like he has super-human tyre wear detection abilities or anything.

because Sauber is much more gentle to the tires.Almost 40 laps on soft tyres is impressive. Makes you wonder why others pitted 3 times.

Good drive, although its ridiculous to judge someone just by one race. So much for 3-4 tyre stops, I always knew it was just a media hype and Perez proved it
Posted 27 March 2011 - 18:11
but the leaders were killing the softs after 12-15 laps, so perez was doing something different
