Hi joeninety. Well I am as the Sunday will be one of the few days in the UK when I can take out the baffles and let it howl. Nice to get a run round the old Mallory circuit with no chicanes or bus stops. Lets hope the weather is good as with all the names and bikes listed it could be a fantastic weekend.

Why can't these clubs use a bit of common sense and get together to discuss dates etc , as it's in everyones interest

Unfortunately it clashes with the CMRC 2 dayer at Brands , ( again
) and I know where i'll be .............
Why can't these clubs use a bit of common sense and get together to discuss dates etc , as it's in everyones interest??
And The Spa Bikers Classic, Goodwood FOS, and Olivers Mount are all on the same weekend in July, why?

I can only assume a catchment area, If your near or nearer to a venue you are most likely to attend ?
Well , it's a toss-up for me , Mallory and Brands are both about 200 miles for me

I'm confused, surely the Mallory event if it comes up to expectations with all the attractions is an event is of a different entirety, almost a novelty event.
Still attract the same type of punter , I suggest ( after the last clash of dates 2 years ago the loss of revenue at the Brands CMRC was blamed on the Mallory event ) , which , was proved to be almost 100% correct

Is this a VMCC versus CRMC thing ? I thought they could at least get their heads together over this one.

If Alan Carter is racing his TZ at Brands in the CMRC & appearing at Mallory on an Armstrong, there should be some interesting commuting going on100% with you on that Phil, fans are losing out big time.

Hi, The VMCC has to take a circuit when it can get it. I suspect the Rally of a 1000 bikes could only happen on this date. There is no racing, just track time for VMCC members and the guest superstars and their wonderful machines. Mind you, give some ex- racers a track,a start and a chequered flag and you only have one thing...........Unfortunately it clashes with the CMRC 2 dayer at Brands , ( again
) and I know where i'll be .............

Spa Bikers Classic is one week earlier than Festival of 1000 Bikes if that is what you mean?

Hi, I am no longer involved in VMCC event organisation-my wife and I were for many years-and during that time some-not all-CMRC officials were less than approachable on combined events and conflicting dates. However, the basic difference is that the CMRC do racing and the VMCC's RALLY OF A 1000 BIKES is a track day and members day. There is no conflict with loss of entries from the CMRC, if, as I did, you take part in your race clubs events.Spa Bikers Classic is one week earlier than Festival of 1000 Bikes if that is what you mean?

as I will be at mallory with my YZR500, along with 2 other friends who would have raced at the CRMC there is a loss of entries !!There is no conflict with loss of entries from the CMRC, if, as I did, you take part in your race clubs events.

Must be a sign of age going to a track day instead of racing! Seriously though, if you read and digest what I posted you have chosen not to support your club. I always did the opposite.Hi I disagree
as I will be at mallory with my YZR500, along with 2 other friends who would have raced at the CRMC there is a loss of entries !!
cheers

Racing apart, if you consider that some of the guys won't have seen each other for some years, the attraction of a classic parade get together is understandable. It's just another kind of nostalgiaApparently Alan Carter is at Mallory instead of Brands.

Why I mentioned Alan is that he has made a come back racing a TZ350 at CRMC meets & the odd ICGP races, and because he has decided to meet up with some of his old buddies & heroes (Ago, Kenny Roberts etc) @ Mallory "track day"
I wont get the pleasure of seeing him race again at Brands Hatch as the dates clash.
Which is a shame as both meetings are going to get less spectators because of it.
Correct
