For me it's Vettel, even though it used to be Hamilton. But I have to admit that Lewis has matured, and seems quite a nice fella these days, being open about his shortcomings and trying to address them (he realised how serious Liegate was and matured from there).

Now, Vettel is absolutely stunningly distasteful with his pointed fingers everywhere, screaming on the radio, moaning to grandpa Marko whenever things don't go his way. Not to mention he's hailed like a Senna/Schumacher after almost failing to win the title in a rocketship with a mediocre team mate, whose claim to fame is beating a David Coulthard on a nice trip to retirement :drunk:

I also don't like Sutil, can't exactly pinpoint why, but there's something with him I can't stand, probably the way he treats the entire field like a bull in a china shop. But, it's Vettel all the way.

Its an honest thread I guess......
I don't dislike any of the drivers, I have preferences in terms of who i want to do well,
but its hard to form an opinion having never met any of them in real life.

Barrichello, followed closely by Trulli. Both boring drivers. Old and aren't letting new blood come into the sport. Constantly moaning, all the time. Old. They probably have to think about their grand children now during races and that makes them complain even more.

They were both smacked around silly by their team mates during their supposed hey deys yet they somehow survived being in F1.

Well if nothing else it is quite easy to work out who the top 3 will be.

Schumacher's transition from uber-villain to plucky underdog looks to be complete.

After all he did at Ferrari in supporting so many championships? He's always seemed a nice guy, although sometimes emotional in the heat of the moment but he's generally loved up and down the paddock as far as I know.

I don't like Schumi, he seems to be arrogant. Since his return, Rosberg crushed him on a regular basis, but he never admitted that he had lost his speed.

So being old is the issue?

Insert droves of Hamilton fanboys voting Alonso for not letting baby Lewie win in 2007, followed by droves of Alonso fanboys voting Hamilton for not letting avanti-fer win in 2007. Because the 14 year olds still aren't over it.
Then add a touch of Schumacher for winning everything for 560 years and making the sport rubbish grrrr, apparently.

Counter with a few votes for Vettel from fans of the above for not letting there favourites win.

Then lightly season with our Polish contingent/Kubica fanboys voting for Heidfeld, as he dared score a similar amount of points to the messiah.

Let it get personal, then close thread.
Sorted!!

Love and hate.

Besides Rubens who rear guarded Schumacher, Michael, Hamilton Vettel and Alonso are the driver who won title(s).

If you ask the same question by changing criteria 'hated' with 'loved', the answer will be quite the same or close.

I dislike Vettel. Jeze's middle paragraph explains why.

I used to dislike Webber years ago by the way, for reasons I can't remember anymore.

Good grief, how can I dislike these people, I don't know them? The fact is they are all unbelievably talented even the ones perceived as being 'weaker or slower'. They do a job where the they make decisions in fractions of a second and live with people like us ruminating on the consequences for weeks. They come from different cultures where the norms of behaviour or language are subtely different and yet lots of people make judgements from a 'holier than thou' perspective on their tiniest utterence.

I admire the lot of them quite honestly and I'm deeply envious of them!

Here is a smattering of the reasons I admire them. And I would I guess be classified on this board as a Hamilton fan.

Fernando, Imola 95 unbelievable defending against a quicker car.
Lewis, Silverstone 08 standing in the rain never felt so good.
Felipe, Brazil 08 The personification of dignity in defeat (Rudyard Kipling would have been proud).
Seb, Monza 08 even reason and possible excuse for dropping that car and he nailed it.
Michael, Too many to mention but just getting into the car again and taking those risks because he loves it.
Jenson, Brazil 09 puts himself under pressure and then drives like he doesn't have a care in the world.
Mark, Flying one week and then strapping himself back in and winning the next race.
Rubens, keeping his foot hard in when one of his competitors makes one of those split second decisions that have consequences

etc, etc, etc

They are all human they have their strengths and weaknesses but how can I at this distance from what they do say I dislike them? Each and every one of them is extraordinary or they would not be there.

Regards Mike

Jeze,

You could add a poll about the most liked F1 Driver too :)

About the topic, I used to dislike Lewis in 2007/2008, but since 2009 he grew on me and I started to look at him with different eyes. I still don't like some of his comments for some reason, but it just shows he is human and not a PR Robot after all

I don't dislike anybody, really. At the moment, I like Fernando, Lewis, Kubica and Kobayashi. The rest I am indifferent to. I like Vettel's character, he is tremendously fast in qualifying but his driving rarely excites me, although it could change in the future...

Fingerboy.

Almost the entire BBC crew seem intent on blowing smoke up his arse everytime they speak to him or about him "he's such a nice guy", "he's so normal" and all that bollocks. Then we get to the fact that Bernie cannot remove his tounge from said arse and no doubt he's "smoothing various paths" where possible for his boy. Then there's the crap he spouts over the radio. Then there's the shite names he gives his cars. Then there's Marko also with his tounge up said arse (he and Bernie must be real good kissers by now). Then there's the bloody finger. Then there's him trying his best to throw the WDC in by far and away the best car. Then there's the fact that he keeps on winning. I could go on......

Yep. He's my fave Pantomime baddy.

Tosser.

Well, f1 drivers voted Alonso as the best driver in F1 by huge margin.
Team bossess voted Alonso as the best driver in 2010.

But yeah, you are right, Alonso is average driver and would be easily outraced by Kobayashi. And Perez. And Petrov. And Maldonado. And Massa. Oh wait.

Most of those who vote in this poll are more likely to remember:

Fernando, Hungary 07 blocking the pitbox
Lewis, Hungary 07 ignoring the team agreement at the start of Q3
Felipe, Silverstone 08, more spins than a washing machine
Seb, Istanbul 10, turning into his teammate and refusing to acknowledge responsibility
Michael, Jerez 97, punting another WDC rival
Jenson, he might be the exception to the rule. Nobody I know has a strong dislike of Jenson.
etc etc.

Vettel for me, i dont mind the guy when he does interviews and stuff, he seems like a nice guy but god i hate the guy when hes driving, from his cocky team radios after his races, to his finger celebration and the fact that he keeps on going he wants to match Shcumi's record all the time, as if the record is some easy thing to break.

second close is Rosberg! the guy is a first class tool, always goes on the defensive when he's behind schumi and starts making excuses, and seems like a pretty bitter guy.

I use to HATE Hamilton but he's mellowed down a bit, seems less cocky these days so i dont mind him that much these days!

Fernando, Hungary 07 blocking the pitbox Got angry about something at work and acted like an arse Yep I've done that
Lewis, Hungary 07 ignoring the team agreement at the start of Q3 Felt aggrieved about something and had let it wind him up, yep done that as well
Felipe, Silverstone 08, more spins than a washing machine Had a real bad day, but stuck at it and never quit, yep me too
Seb, Istanbul 10, turning into his teammate and refusing to acknowledge responsibility But I'm quicker and I'm coming through, bang! Yep I've acted in haste and then tried to cover it up
Michael, Jerez 97, punting another WDC rival Snap decision and the wrong one, made one or two of those myself....
Jenson, he might be the exception to the rule. Nobody I know has a strong dislike of Jenson. Couldn't we just make something up :)

Vettel, even more so since the qualifying in melbourne... "we are who we are... we....*babble*"... seriously... Especially him teamed up with the arrogant bunch that is RBR is soo annoying.

I am biased for sure, but someone really needs to stop his run. I don't like ferrari, but really hoped fernando or mark would take championship last year. This is just unbearable.

F1 is not a popularity contest and about who is the nicest guy. Who cares?

This is the kind of thread you would expect on the Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga messageboards.

Also funny to note in the poll this far: the best 3 drivers are the most disliked.

Go figure ;)

Easily Alonso, by a mile. Overrated and the usual controversial stuff that we're only supposed to whisper quietly around here. Also think his fans are more aggressive and hypocritical than average, as the OP clearly demonstrates.

It's interesting how Vettel is now affected with Schumacher syndrome -i.e. people start to hate dominance. Frankly, I think frustrated life losers just start hating any winners.

Barrichello needs to get out of F1, and he needs to take Schumacher with him. Stick a fork in them, they're done.

Does anyone in F1 understand the advantage of leaving on a high-note?

Despite Australia, I'm really getting to hate Petrov. He's out of his league and his stupid reaction to going off track could have been a major incident.
Luckily, he was only left looking like and idiot with this steering wheel in his lap.

Every German driver and Alonso.

The first because they made and make F1 popular in Germany which means RTL will keep broadcasting it, which means more pain.

Alonso because he is the only paydriver in one of the top 6 cockpits.
