Rob,

Later in 1974.

Repco formally announced their withdrawal from racing in July '74, the Board decision was made early that year - amongst a whole bunch of cost-cutting measures in response to the reduction in local tariffs, global stagflation, ongoing Oil Crisis yada-yada-yada -  with letters sent to (for example) Repco-Holden F5000 V8 lessees in April.

My recollection is that Jeff Hughes Racing bought those physical assets of REDCO Pty. Ltd: Coventry Climax FPF, Repco Brabham Engines Pty.Ltd. and REDCO Pty. Ltd. (Repco-Holden F5000 program).

When Repco Brabham Engines Pty. Ltd. ceased to trade its assets: some plant and equipment, the stock of Coventry Climax engines/parts and Repco Brabham engines, parts, patterns, moulds and dies etc became assets of REDCO. Part of Malcolm Preston's remit as the new GM of REDCO was to look after RBE's Climax and Repco Brabham V8 customers. REDCO occupied part of the same building in Maidstone in which RBE Pty. Ltd. weaved its magic. Finally, some of the staff also went across.

A cruise thru RCN/AA in later 1974 and 1975 should reveal an ad by the successful entity.

The reason I ask Mark/Ray is a business client good friend ,now in AgedCare has enough blocks/heads to build any size Repco V8,he would not remember as to were he bought the "gear" or date,  It would have been through Repco?  as his  Mechanical business did the Gold Star engines for Repco from memory ..

Rob,

Yours is an English dialect I don't understand.

Happy to discuss that Brighton Bloke and his bibs and bobs by phone if that helps.

I don't know if he has it all...

But the Jim Phillips car, the reason Mrs Phillips bought all the stuff, is back with the son of the original owner - Bruce Ayers. I saw a bundle of engine bits, a lot of them showing signs of blow-ups, when I visited him about three years ago. I'm pretty sure some of the gear went to the Gibsons for their ex-Macarthu Rennmax as it expanded from 2.5 to 3.0 litres at one stage.
